Let the Right One In
Dark Knight
In Bruges
Iron Man
Man on Wire

Was Forgetting Sarah Marshall 2008? Because I loved that movie.

Haven't seen The Wrestler yet. Looks depressing. Vicky Cristina Barcelona is sitting on my harddrive now. That oughta be worth something if for nothing else than ScarJo sideboob. Milk is also sitting there too.

Wall-E was definitely my favorite, desert island pick of 2008 though.

That's what I thought going in but it's not. It's actually mostly beautiful.

I saw it, and greatly enjoyed the eye-candy, but the writing and acting left enough to be desired that it doesn't make my best movies list.

I thought it just added to the silliness of the movie.

The crap they say in The Matrix trilogy is worse.

Aww man. I should include that one. I saw it five times, but forgot to get the DVD for my dad. Damn I'm glad you mentioned it. My dad looks like Pops Racer.

WALL-E --I adored this film up until the fat people arrived. Then, I just really liked it.

DARK KNIGHT--Needs to be cut by about twenty five minutes at the end, but still one of the year's best.

IRON MAN--While a very different super hero film, probably better shot and more fun than the above.

Wall-E
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Doubt
Dark Knight (I do think it's a bit overrated, but it was still good)
Hellboy 2 (XD I'm a del Toro fan, that's all)
Religulous

I'm sure there's a lot more that I'm missing, I tend to forget what I've seen and what i haven't seen XD;

Shit good movies were meek this year weren't they?

Outside of these I can't remember anything wowing me a whole lot.

a lot more disappointments than unexpected greats.

I'm going to add Wall-E too, just saw it.

It is one of the best movies of 2008 and may be Pixars greatest achievement since Toy Story.

But I don't want to get nominated for Best Picture. Because it won't have a chance against Slumdog....

It'll be better off winning it's own award in Best Animation Feature.

I don't follow your logic here. Firstly, Best Picture and Best Animated Film are not mutually exclusive nominations. WALL-E will win the Oscar for Best Animated Film. If it's nominated for Best Picture, it will not only be the second animated film ever nominated (1991, Beauty and the Beast), it will be the first nominated since the Best Animated Film category was created, which might actually be a larger achievement than Beauty and the Beast's nomination.

What in the fuck is happening in the world when Beauty & the Beast is nominated for best fucking picture? I mean seriously.

You ask why!? Well let me entertain you! I thought it sucked. And I think cartoons should be confined to the animated category. I never heard of Terrance Howard say, being nominated for best animation, so fuck that. Keep the categories clean.

Thankfully, the Academy does not share your prejudices.
