That's not just a whip scorpion it's a Tanzanian Giant Tailless Whipscorpion.

One of the largest of the tailless whipscorpions, the Giant Tailless Whipscorpions are great for the experienced keeper's collection. Due to having a gentle disposition they are also good for the beginner. Though they are harmless, these bizarre-looking creatures are fast and agile and somewhat delicate. They can pinch with their claws but rarely do, choosing to run away instead.

or so I've read.

To add to my earlier post about cockroaches, I don't like African Hissing Cockroaches even more. They're bigger and they stand on their back legs and go "hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" and I scream and run away.

I refuse to believe that this creature is anything less than a demonic insectoid sent straight from hell to devour my soul.

I wouldn't call them entirely harmless. It's true that they aren't poisonous, they're too primitive for poison. But they do have weapons, these creatures are also called vinegaroons because they can spray acetic acid at you.

Acid burns and blisters the skin and the vapours cause quite the burning sensation if you breathe them in our get it in your eyes.

From the Wikipedia entry on horsehair worms:

In Spinochordodes tellinii, which has grasshoppers as its vector, the infection acts on the grasshopper's brain and causes it to seek water and drown itself, thus returning the nematomorph to water.[2] They are also remarkably able to survive the predation of their host, being able to wriggle out of the predator which has eaten the host cricket.[5]
