The Brothers Quay

on a lighter note... anyone here fans of the Bros. Quay? I picked up a DVD of some of their stuff a few months back- mindblowing...

Now that is some odd animation. Have you seen the one with the finger. . . ican't remember what it's touching . . . a mole? an eye ball? Anyways, it's gross. I like it!

oh yes! but i sorta prefer the work of their mentor, Jan Svankmejer. if you haven't seen any of his movies...

Crocodiles and Gilgamesh are my favorites. Bros. Quay do neet things to my brain.

I don't like his work as much. maybe its just not macabre enough for me. or that i saw his eating people heads thing too much while in hi-school

Svankmajer is totally the man. His Faust is one of my all-time favorites.

Brothers Quay !!!! you have excellent taste... you should check out the film "Decascia" too ... its not by the Brothers Quay, but its very dark and beautiful. Oh, and if you are partial to obscene puppetry ... check out this movie too...Marquis A Bizzare Tale of Sex Lust And The French Revolution
