I really have too many internet-thingies already. My SG. My Myspace. My real blog. My Twitter. My LJ. My Model Mayhem. My eBay.
I have accounts abandoned at Deviant Art, Facebook, and any number of other sites that I don't even remember the names of.
Now everyone wants a Tumblr page, and I've found some awesome ones, but do I actually NEED one? (I mean NEED like I need cute shoes, not like I need oxygen)
And people keep saying Technorati makes all of this easier, but I started an account and fail to see how it helps me at all.
So, my internet friends- how about it? Do I need more intarwebz? Why?
But, if anyone on the planet needs a Tumblr, it's you...

Twitter is easy to keep up with if you have Twitterrific. But I have almost abandoned everything other than SG, AIM and a few other tech forums. My Facebook and MySpace accounts have long been abandoned.

The idea of mining abandoned profile pages and collecting some kind of data from them gives me a total academic boner.
The more of these sort of social sites a person gets on, the more drama-ridden and complicated their life becomes. I felt quite happy when I deleted my myspace page, and I've felt slightly sick ever since I activated facebook (although the only people I've added on there are family and a very few choice friends from real life). I'm not even sure I'm going to renew my SG account when it comes due next May.
Now, it can be argued that there is only as much drama as each individual allows in, I realize that. But I certainly did not ask for all the crap that has happened on the myriad of sites I joined (and later deleted).
Going fad-crazy on this site, that site, every site, is pretty much meaningless. People, very often, have the same friends list on each, and the advantages of one site over the next are pretty much non-existant. SG is about the only one I can think of that has an actual advantage (teh nekkids), but really how much difference is there between facebook, myspace, twitter, Tumblr (whatever that is) and all the rest?
I signed up for facebook a few months ago for some reason I can't remember. I was trying to look at someone's page or something. I made the mistake of using my real email. People found me. I now have two facebook friends and 6 friend requests. Or at least, I did last I checked. That's without doing anything to the page. It's an empty page.
I find that I have no trouble staying in touch with those whose company I actually enjoy, facebook or no. Those whose company I don't enjoy, however, have an easier time getting in touch with me because of facebook. As a result, I've decided I don't need facebook at all.
(Though one of my facebook friends is a crush of mine, and it's nice to be able to see all her pictures and sigh dreamily as hearts float around my head. Before anyone asks, no, I haven't. And I won't. You're disgusting.)

That's silly. My life is exactly as dramatic now as it was before I had Facebook and Myspace and Twitter. Which is to say not dramatic at all.
People who bitch about drama are always the first to perpetuate it.

I sort of said that in my second paragraph. Maybe my experiance was unique.
But, if anyone on the planet needs a Tumblr, it's you...
Why me?
Because you have an endless supply of awesome nekkid pictures that would be a truly joyous photoblog! After all, my favorite Tumblr sites are the erotic photoblogs like Beautiful and Depraved, Bend Me Over, and Noir Desir. It really is a good blogstyle for the nekkids!
And, I don't even comprehend how y'all find drama on the internet. It's just the internet, for God's sake!
