Well the way i look at it, is that they are very very simular in all ways. They just choose a different enemy u see. The anti-racists hate just as much as the racist. Both are drivin by hate. If they could both put away there beliefs just for a minute and actually do something productive for society i think they both would achieve their goals. U see they both in their own minds think that they are right and that they are the heros saving the world. It all perspective, coming from the mind. The anti racists (or now defunct SHARPS) are actually focused on the original skin head movement which has nothing to do with race but everything to do with the working class. They have every right to be pissed that some ignorant fucks have distorted society's view of skins.

I think it's funny that bone heads listen to ska while it is clearly derived from reggae. But, people in that movement are not there because they were smart to begin with.

but, i disagree with this statement.
in my experience, the skinheads that are most related to the original skinhead movement are the ones that just say skinhead. (or because the late 80's and early 90's insisted on labeling everything after the fact,
'trads' .)
sharps developed to combat the racist skinheads and used to often be more violent and destructive then the people they were fighting against. (which don't get me wrong, kinda amused me at the time.)

I used to run with Sharps and Skins and I can say that while the Sharps were standing up in the face of all of the neo nazi shit, they were still basically skins. They didn't always have an agenda.

Perhaps you aren't aware of what was going on in the Portland area but a lot of shit went down and we were under attack from various neo nazi organizations. The fact that we had Sharps and skins and scooter boys... you can't say that they weren't "skinheads" and I don't know where you would find any evidence they were more violent than the bone heads.

Admittedly, back in the day, I used to say that the best thing about the Boneheads (neo nazi, white power, racist skinheads) was that I" can beat the fuck out of them at every turn and never feel bad about it". It was a rare thing for my friends and I to be the instigators in the many many altercations, fights and all out brawls we had with them, they were quite reliable in trying to start shit with Punks in those days and we were almost always acting in "retaliation". But we weren't exactly unwilling either, except for those who were, for what ever reasons, unable to defend themselves well or at all. Many situations probably could have been avoided but there was always cause for "revenge" and most certainly their ideologies brought out the worst in, not only them but in us who were so opposed to them.

The only consolation, I think, is that they've pretty much disappeared as a movement in this city over the years.

I still have a collection, somewhere, of the white power, kkk, national front and Nazi patches that I used to rip from their bomber jackets as trophies. ..I imagine I'll probably throw that shit in the garbage next time I come across it.
