Hmm...I liked it. A tad bit much of Tom Cruise cinematic maturbation...but I liked it never-the-less...

I want to see this even though Tom Cruise is in it, but I haven't yet seen Ran so I have no current benchmark of cinematic greatness. Hidden Fortress and Yojimbo were great though so I trust that the quality of his work is consistent...Kurosawa is, after all, the Miyamoto of Japanese cinema...

Just saw the flick last night. It was...OK. Didn't kick my ass as much as I was hoping. Hell, I was even looking forward to shedding a man's tear ala Braveheart or Glory. But NO.

I hope the actor that plays Katsumoto becomes the Japanese Jean Reno, though.

Word of advice, if you are dragged to this movie and can't stand Tom Cruise...everytime he does something "Tom Cruise-ish"...just yell out

"Cruiser!!! Hahaaaaa Crooooozzzzeerrr!".
