I don't think "MTV" means anything any more, but is one of those corporate names that used be be an acronym and mean something, but is now just a name.

if it meant "music" than MTV Music would be repetitive. and TV can't mean "television" because that's on the internet. What the fuck does it stand for?

Why would MTV show music? If that were a marketable venture. Fuse and IMF and MTV2 would have taken off.

How could a music television station succeed in the era of the internet? It's virtually impossible. MTV probably made the best decision it could given the circumstances. Evolve or perish.

What seems so especially, terribly ironic is that both of those shows were actually really *good*, and yet have wrought so much crap. The path to hell and so on and so forth.

That one still amazes me. They made a separate station specifically for music videos.... and now it's just more reality TV.
