Alright...I don't care how much you drink. I don't give a shit how many drugs you take. But the second you start putting someone else's life in danger through your intoxicated actions, that's just fucking unacceptable.

I'm so sorry for your loss. frown

People look at me funny when I go off on rants about the evils of driving drunk. I don't understand why they think it's ok. One time, when I had my voice raised a little too high, this stupid git looked up at me disbelievingly and said, "Yeah, like you've never driven drunk." I looked at him and almost punched him, but I restrained myself and said, "No, I haven't." The thought that anyone thinks this is ok, especially in this day and age with, what, seventy per cent of the country's eligible population out there driving, completely baffles me. Drunk drivers are the most irresponsible, idiotic, low-down sort of creep out there, and I wish it was legal, no, required to euthanise them when they get caught, especially this way. Maybe you screwed up by drinking and getting in the car; that doesn't mean someone else has to pay the penalty.

I'm sorry about your loss, man. That may seem empty coming across so many wires and miles, but I am.

The thing I still don't understand, is if people know they are going out drinking, why do they even bring their car in the first place?

That is what cabs are for.
I am very sorry for your loss, it is such a senseless death. frown

And please watch the speed limits. More people die each year in accidents that involve driving at speeds above the posted limits than are killed by drunks, falling asleep at the wheel, drugs... combined.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and I sympathize. frown Like others have said, just remember the great times you had with your friend... And in time it will feel better, I promise.

My 13 year old cousin was killed by a drunk driver several years ago. She was with some other kids from her school picking up trash from the side of the road, she was in some service group at school. The woman went off the road and hit and killed her and a couple other children. And the fucking bitch lived without a scratch. I have never driven drunk, and will never. And I will NOT let my friends do it.

I hate people who think it's ok, or think that they're completely capable while shitface drunk. It's one of the things that pisses me off the most in this world - drunk driving madmadmad

Yeah it's pretty sad and crazy how rampant drunk driving is. I quit going to parties just because every fucking one I went to ended with like 25 drunk kids and 2 or 3 sober drivers and a bunch of stupid excuses.

No it's not ok if you only live a mile away. No it's not ok if you "think" you're fine. No it's not ok if your friend was supposed to drive but ended up drinking and you're better off than they would be, yet not quite sober yourself. No it's not ok... EVER.

Another reason I have no faith in humanity.

Sorry for your loss...i just don't get the attitude of "i don't care" that some people have about drinking and driving. I've never personally lost any friends that way, but too many of my friends have. One acquaintance of mine said the other day that he drinks and drives and i just wanted to slug him...but i kept my mouth shut and now i regret that.

I'll admit to having a few beers and driving but i'm a big guy and i can drink a few and be allright. I'm never intoxicated--grossly or otherwise--but this makes me think that maybe i shouldn't even have those. Well one or two won't hurt.

Still...why can't people fucking learn that number one on a top five list of bad things to do on a night is to get hammered and then go joy riding? It's the vehicular equivalent of Russian Roulette but with greater casualty potential.
