I think The Misfits old or new were ans till are the bollox!
I loved them from the moment i first heard Legacy of Brutality. I promptly went and spunked all of my money on the whole Misfit catalogue.
I am currently in a Misfits tribute band called DEVILOCK. We are going to raise some money doing a gig for Children in need in october. Its going to be Halloween/Misfits theme evening.

Anybody else pissed the fuck off that those bitches that call themselves metallica did a 'fits song (Last Carress, none the less!!!!!!) UNPLUGED!?!?!?!?! What the fuck is up with that?????? Misits accoustic???? Jerry, Glenn, and Doyle need to go and stomp Lars and James into a bloody mud hole for that one.

Oh, and my two cents as far as the whole Misfits/Newfits (as I affectionately call them) debate:
The Newfits are cool, I like several of thier songs and I REALLY want to hear the album with all the 50's songs, I love oldies covers. But they have never given me that 'wrenchingmyneckoutofplaceadrenelinespikinggoddamnitIwannaBREAKSOMETHIN' feeling that the old shit does. That's nothing on them, music styles change. Unfortunatly for me, they always change AWAY from what I like (Pantera being the exception, their older shit before Anselmo SUCKED ASS!)

You're acting like a danzig fanboy with a "they screwed danzig over and danzig is awesome and blah blah blah" and you can rationalize out the petty arguement all day, but I'm still not buying it." - (I fucked up on the quote thing).


I think it’s more delicate a matter than just not being into the new Misfits simply because it’s not Danzig. If you would like to seriously debate the actual music and not the politics, you’ll find that a lot of people just think the new version sucks.

I went to see them on their first tour with Graves and I was really excited, and the show was a lot of fun, but when the first record actually came out, I gave it a good few listens over the course of time, and each time I was just asking, “What’s the purpose, really?”

Then the records after that answered my question.

I still wanted to see Graves on his solo thing when he came through here, but at the last moment decided not to. So I’m always up for a good show, but as for buying the records, I think it’s all a matter of taste.

If you’re into the new stuff, then that’s good, and there’s more for you to like, but it’s not right to say everyone who naysays it are just stingy grudge dorks for not liking the new stuff. Some of them are, but not everyone.

I personally think the new stuff is crap. The songwriting is about as provocative as a Coke ad, and sells, seemingly, for the same reason Coke does: simply because it’s there and available. The lyrics are lame.

I think riding Danzig’s train is something they’re guilty of now. And just because I like Danzig a whole lot doesn’t mean I’m popping up out of a haze of anger to defend his honor; it just means that new Misfits lyrics seem like it’s a bad attempt at copping another person’s style. And Danzig’s style is pretty hard to ignore if you’re comparing the two.

good golly miss molly, when i read jerry say something with danzing might be in the works i pissed myself, i think it would be too much misfits excitement for me, seeing them on stage would be like a visual orgasm.

there is a very, very slight chance that glenn will go through with the recording ( i have an inside source).

....and there isn't a chance in hell danzig would tour with them. it's his ego. if there was ever a reunion i would give my left nut for this is THEE reunion. i just don't think our generation will see it.
