No one laughs like Jerry Only. He's got a hearty laugh that booms over the phone receiver.

A lot of criticism has been thrown at The Misfits since their latest incarnation of Jerry Only, Marky Ramone and Dez Cardena. But why does it matter if they fucking rock your socks off. I've seen them live a number of times both on TV and at a concert venue. They kick ass.

Their latest album, Project 1950, is something I don't think anyone expected. It's an album of cover songs from the 1950's like "This...

Not only that -- but Black Flag isn't exactly an Oi! band. Who knows what he was thinking.

Stop putting out bad records. Seriously, he's pretty much ruined The Misfits name. I know he's got kids and at the end of the day he needs to make $ like anyone else, and touring in a popular band has to beat working in a box factory, but that doesn't change the fact that a) they haven't had a good record in 2 decades (trim the crap from Famous Monsters and American Psycho and you'd have a respectable 7 or 8 song EP), and b) this is a run-on sentence.

Oh come on, just shut up now.
Seriously. That Graves guy they brought in could sing and do it well. You're acting like a danzig fanboy with a "they screwed danzig over and danzig is awesome and blah blah blah" and you can rationalize out the petty arguement all day, but I'm still not buying it.

It's no better an arguement than big ozzy fans dismissing the awesome Dio years of Black Sabbath cuz they fired ozzy from teh band. Misfits A.D. as I call them (AD = after danzig) put out good music and if they were called something else, you'd love it and you'd love their records. But you have to hold onto these stupid grudges, which aren't even yours, and miss out on good music. Your loss.

They are fair enough live as a Mistfits cover band, at least they were when they had Graves. I don't hide the fact that I was excited to see them when they got back together, but after the second time seeing them, I just felt like they were going through the motions, with all the energy at the shows coming from the kids.

Danzig fanboy? Not really, I never liked Samhain and the only great Danzig record is the first one, the rest are pretty bad in my opinion.

The reason why the Dio Sabbath era is inferior to the Ozzy years has to do with the music, not the vocals. The two Dio era albums are much better than the last Ozzy era attempts, but not any of those albums come close to attaining what they did between Paranoid and Sabatage. But to be fair, there haven't been many bands to have such a great 5 album streak as Sabbath did.

I think I was pretty reasonable and unstanding in my criticisms. If Jerry wants to keep putting out records that mediocre at best, thats his right. If you like what he's putting out, great, more power to you, its one of the best feelings in the world to find a record you love, but I don't have to like them.

Honestly, do you think many people would give a rats ass about these albums if they didn't have the Misfits tag on them? Perhaps, my guess is they'd have a similar but smaller fan base as Electric Frankenstein, perhaps something on the level of the Independents.

you can talk all the shit you want, but they still put on a good show.
maxbeta is right "if they were called something else, you'd love it and you'd love their records."

to tell you the truth I didn't like the stuff after danzig untill i gave a real chance and realized it's good music and the new danzig stuff sucked anyway......

in the end I don't care what name the band has after members leave because rancid still sucks.

Only is a god. Does anyone know if "project 1950" is out? I recently heard what was said to be a new misfits song on the radio. It sounded quite poppy and horrid. Almost "new offspring." Hopefully the DJ was mistaken. The 'fits still held it together after glen, it was just a different sound. Graves had a decent enough voice to emulate glen, with a slight twist. As long as there's Only, there's a shadow of the Misfits.

Project 1950's came out in the summer , and you probaly heard the dj say a new band from the misfits label ,Balzac and OSAKA POPSTAR are both on the misfits lable,Balzac is from japan they don't sound much like the misfits go figure, but i think Jerry is on there first single the day the earth caught fire, And OSAKA POPSTAR sounds a lot like the misfits i don't think there cd has hit the shelves yet but they do have a single out. Before anyone clames i'm full if shit like everytime else i've ever posted, here's the facts,www.misfits.com

And for the records i think Glen made the misfits in the early days but Jerry still rocks. They will never diediedie.

I am not a fan of the current Misfits stuff because I don't like it. I gave American Psycho a chance. I even gave Famous Monsters a chance. I don't like the records because I think they are bland.

"Without pissing on the parade too much, I dont begrudge a man's living, so there is room for new Misfits, i just wont be hanging from the rafters at their gigs"

Well said.

I love the New Misfits. I think Michale graves was one of the greatest things to ever happen to the band. I will support Jerry Only till he drops dead, in anything he sees fit to do. Oh yes, and bring Doyle Back. or how bout a Kryst The Conqueror reunion?
