What did you guys think?

It's cheesey, but I can tell I'm already addicted.

It's like a Twin Peaks/Lost/X-Files orgy!

I caught the pilot screening at Comic-Con, and actually liked it better the second time around. I haven't seen Twin Peaks, and have only picked up X-Files by osmosis, but I recognize your comparison as valid. As with True Blood, I'm fascinated by the concept alone, and combining that with talents I like (J.J. Abrams and Josh Jackson (when he's not in a teen soap opera)) means I'll continue watching.

Also: "The only thing better than a cow is a human. Unless you want milk. Then you really need a cow."

They need to stop using those stupid giant letters to tell the audience new locations. It's stupid looking. Really stupid looking.

Also, they used a direct rip off from the X-Files intro in their intro.

But it could be a decent show. Maybe.

I missed the first hour, and tuned in for the last half hour, so I missed all the setting up.
Looks like it could be interesting, though.
I'm a total Lost addict, so I'll continue watching.

I think the whole show is a rip-off of the X-files. I think if they called it X-files 2008, people would be assy. But with a new title, its a new show.

I loved it.

If they make the blonde girl a lesbian, it will be the best show ever.

Naw, you can tell they're already setting her up to fall for/screw the guy with the crazy dad. It'll be ~~romantic~~, because he's a rebel but her kind heart can CHANGE him! Those casually sexist remarks he makes are just a scared little boy trying to look powerful, right?

Can you tell I hated this guy's character? biggrin

fun, if a tad (okay, more than a tad) formulaic. it's X-Files with an eye towards futurism.

I guess I'm the only one that loved the location titles!

I liked how the camera pans into the letter "O"..

Neat, as for the show it was just okay.

That first scene was something out of a horror movie. Awesome. What's the deal with JJ Abrams and planes, anyway? smile

I think this show has serious potential if they maintain an underlying mythology like Rimbaldi or DHARMA.

they will. it's called "the Pattern". apparently, someone or something is performing paranormal experiments all around the globe, feeding off of and contributing to the ever-increasing rate of technological advancement.

I am surprised they can say "Uh oh. I just pissed my pants." on TV.

I could have done without the romance aspect of the plot. I mean, her trying to save her lover's life is a perfectly viable plotline, but there's zero emotional resonance when you know neither of them and the establishment of their "great love" is a couple minutes conversation in bed before the show moves on to flashier things. Skip that sort of thing in the pilot. Finale, maybe. Or a season or two later.

Yeah. "Just a little squirt" was probably the best part of the show.

I thought the first episode was good. It depends on how they take it over the next few episodes before I decide if it's good enough to continue watching. The potential is there.

It's pretty corny and formulaic, but somewhat interesting. I'm more into all the weird pseudoscience bullshit they talk about than any kind of plot or character development. It does seem like J.J. Abrams is finally starting to spread himself a bit thin, though.
