I'm new so apologies and all that but I had to add one thing o the Punk Theses. This clip right here is punk.

When it starts to smell a bit, you move onto whichever groups bring the attitude.. you can tell a fucking mile off if its punk or not.

Girls Aloud are punk.

Johnny Cash was punk.

..and like the Audio Bullys said - Hip-Hop and House is punk.

and OF COURSE john Lydon is punk!

Johnny Cash was not punk. He may have been rebellious but so was Marlon Brando.

Oh dear - I did apologise for being late on this theme if you'll forgive me, but funnily enough above this message are at least 6 definitions of what's definitely not punk.

What I was 'attempting' to draw attention to was that the Audio Bullys lyric draws a line through music history of what bands had the 'attitude' of punk.

So punk ain't just basic guitar n drums & a pair of converse - but about a thousand other things which it's obviously pointless to go into on here.

I'm out of here. Dudes.

Dude, that was so fucking punk.

*that was sarcasm. I wouldn't say Punk is dead, but I'd say its gasping for its last breathes.

Well, it can trace its intellectual tradition back through the iconoclasm of the Fugs and the Beats back to the Romantics and from there to the ancient Greeks, so I'm pretty sure its Punk. wink
