I gotta say, I'm kind of excited for this movie. I hope he deals with the topic in a somewhat respectful manner, but also makes fun of it. Ought to be interesting in any case.

I'm not a big Maher fan , but that looks like it might actually be entertaining .

I want to see this, it looks interesting and how much fun to watch this and then go drink beer and get into a total all out bar debate (because you know that would happen).

I generally like Maher, and I want to see this.

Sometimes I just want to strangle him, but he's a lot funnier when I agree with him. smile

I wanna go just to see if there are any wack-jobs protesting. They should be quite entertaining. biggrin

There are going to be more than enough wack-jobs in the movie it looks like. I don't think I live near a big enough theatre to get any protesting wack-jobbery going on.

Sure , nothing like making fun of peoples feeble attempts to bring some sort of order and meaning to the random chaos that life is...or is it?

That's because you hate god, religion, religious people, and kittens.

However wackos protesting would likely get me to go too.

Too bad it is Bill Maher. He is the most unfunny person this side of Rush Limbaugh. Actually Dennis Miller is the most unfunny.

Rented it this weekend, it didn't really enlighten me on a lot of things religious, but there were nuts abounding. It did remind me of how interested I once was in the parallels between christianity and other earlier religions. Not quite as funny as it appeared in the previews, but there was some definite moments when I grinned, and others when I LOL'd.

I'm sure there was a thread earlier than this somewhere but my search isnt bringing it up.

Oh welll.

Did he spread the love, or was it mostly Christianity getting beat on?

No, he talked about other religions, but it was mainly Christianity and the denominations thereof.

The best part was when he was standing in front of the Vatican talking w/a priest who basically said, "Yeah, fuck the Church."

I was a little disappointed. It wasn't awful, it was certainly entertaining but he could have done a lot more with it.

It was interesting and had its moments, but honestly I was hoping he would have pushed the envelope a bit more. The God Who Wasn't There is a great film along these lines.

I kept wondering if that guy really was a priest, or just some guy they got to say he was a priest. But I'm also a skeptical douchebag.
