My iGoogle page just went all wonky. All of my widget frames are empty and I can't click over to any of the tabs other than the one I'm currently on.

Refresh (either page or frame) does nothing.
Closing out, signing out, changing themes ... does nothing.

I am the only one?

Hmmm ... I have this ...

The Gmail widget wasn't even there ... I tried to add it to see if that would jumpstart a refresh. It's been sitting there "loading" ever since.

Weird.

What did you do before it broke all by itself?

Clear your cache and restart your browser.

The to-do list has items in it that you can drag and drop into order. I did that and everything was fine, but one item was hidden. I expanded the window (using the little edit settings menu) and when I clicked out all of my other widgets were empty and I couldn't click over to any tabs.

Like I said ... it went kablooey! And I never said it it broke all by itself!

Okay, this is just fucking weird. I cleared the cache, restarted Firefox and now I have this ...

It updated the freakin' color, but I'm still having the no load/no clicky bullshit.
Weird, man.

Hmm... sounds like an Ajax fuckup to me- either your widgets aren't able to make server requests, or your browser isn't able to accept the data being served. You may want to try it in a different browser and see if there's any difference. I'd also download the Firefox extension HTTPFox- that way you can see if data's being passed through to you.

I'll try it in IE and/or Safari and see what's up.

Google help suggested clearing the cache (which Shal beat them to) and cookies. I just re-cleared cache and tossed my cookies this time, too.

Same shit.

I tried it in IE7 ... same shit, and HOLY CRAP I forgot how damn slow IE is.

Rebooted ... same shit.

I just hope I didn't lose everything on that page, 'cause I've got all kinds of stuff on like six different multi-tabs in that Sticky Note widget. I know iGoogle does automatic backups, so I'm not going to sweat it anymore tonight.

Still really weird, though.

I lied ... I kept trying.

Per Google advice I reinstalled Java and tried to restore the last backup (which was time-stamped a half-hour before I started this thread, so it should've been a good one) ... neither did anything.

The only remaining thing was to wipe the slate clean, which I am not willing to do unless absolutely necessary. Stupid Sticky-Notes.

Anyhoo ... a help request has been sent to Googleville and this thread now becomes one man's experience with the company that will one day own all of our souls. They've already got about 72% of mine.

I'll update as to their responsiveness and ability to un-kablooey my problem.

Holy shit. That's pretty awesome. I mean, I expect that sort of thing coming from...well...us... but not from Googzilla*.

Yeah, I was surprised not only to get (what at least appears to be) a personal response, but to get that response so quickly.

I submitted the help request around midnight Googletime™ and my good buddy Kyle got back to me at 10:43am Googletime™.

First you will need a sharp knife, a virgin, a full or blue moon, and an Indian (Native American) cemetery.
