Have shoes gotten bigger or have my feet gotten smaller?

You know how clothing manufacturers have been making the same letter-size clothing bigger over the years? Like, if you get a "Large" shirt from the 1980s it will be much smaller than a "Large" shirt today...

Are they doing that with shoes too? I used to wear a size 9 shoe. Now I wear an 8 (except in Rocketdog and Unlisted -- 8.5 there). 8.5 is too big in Vans. WTF?

Wow, your feet must be getting smaller. None of the manufacturers I know are altering the sizes to make people feel like they have smaller feet.

The same thing happens to me, depending on the manufacturer. Sketchers, I wear a size 13, but if I wear western boots I wear a size 12. Sneakers, size 13, dress shoes size 12. Columbia sandals, size 12 . . . .$1.99 Wal-mart flipflops, XXL.

On the plus side, my feet don't let me tip over.

I swear I wore a size 15 shoe in high school and now I'm 13 or 12.5 depending on the brand.

Its opposite for me. Vans are running smaller it seems.

Vans fucking sucks now with their sizing. I can't just walk in, pick out a shoe, grab a pair in my size, pay and walk out. Each style is a different sizing. I wear a 9 in the Rowley, an 8.5 in the Half Cab and a 9.5 in the Lasek! WTF!!!! I've been wearing Vans since before Spicoli discussed how it's really our time with Mr. Hand.
