....he's a fucking asshole that bitches about the proliferation of mix-tapes and deejays who play them....and exactly HOW was he discovered?... He should be greatful for having gotten so wealthy from the weak ass bullshit he puts out.
From what I've heard, he sounds like most other pop rap artists. Nothing to set him apart from the rest of the pack. When it comes to music, being boring is the worst crime one can commit.

so i had to see what all the hype was about, so i gave Tha Carter III a listen. now, i will admit, i'm not the biggest hip-hop fan as a rule, but some of the hip-hop albums i like are very influential to me, so i try to go into every listening experience with an open mind. with regard to Wayne's album, i didn't hate it. but i admit, i just didn't get it either. some of the production was okay i suppose. and i can appreciate that he's trying to do something to mix the genre up a bit. ultimately, after listening to it, even though it wasn't my cup of tea, i could see how others might enjoy it.
now this on the other hand:
i watched this clip from his appearance on SNL last night and found it utterly absurd. i can find no artistic or entertainment merit (trainwreck or otherwise) in this whatsoever. it felt like kids going up at a talent show knowing ahead of time that they were going to mess around and have a joke of it. i can't imagine that anyone could take that seriously. (yeah, and i know how there's been talk about how it's funny and ironic that he can't really play guitar, which sort of worked on the album, but live i'm not so sure). so, i just have to know from those of you who like Lil Wayne's recorded output, was this performance good to you as well? or am i truly not getting what Wayne is all about? is it shtick? is that what it is?
if this performance is what Lil Wayne is about, i don't know if i want to get it, because the joke would get really old, really fast for me.
