I mostly see it on a lot of members Top 10 list.

I can see why people love it so much. And probably Michel Gondry best movie ever.

I mean his last couple of movies sucked..

It was alright, I hated the ending of it.

I do like Gondry he does have a very unique creative mind.

Donnie Darko and Secretary are also very popular.

What's your thoughts on those, Misterlinguist?

I don't get the love for Boondock Saints at all . I mean , other then Willem Dafoe totally overacting for all to see , what is the attraction ? And I am another of the Donnie Darko fans , so add me to that list .

It's honestly one of the worst movies ever.

I can't really speak on the current state of things but a few years ago there was no question Fight Club was the most popular movie 'round here.

Yeah Boondock Saints I agree on. I mean what's the deal with that movie?

As for Donnie Darko, I can see why people like it so much.

Sadly it may be the EMOs that love it so much. I saw it a second time on Saturday.

This time the directors cut, I got it a little but it's still hard to understand. smile

It's not for everyone, but it's definitely a movie you either love or hate.

These numbers are representative, not absolute, of course, with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind being our baseline, and the other films expressed as multiples of the baseline, so "4.2" would mean that that film appeared on 4.2 times as many top 10 lists as Eternal Sunshine did.

Fight Club: 2.46
Pulp Fiction: 1.42
Donnie Darko: 1.39
Boondock Saints: 1.11
Star Wars: 1.1
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: 1
Amelie: 0.93
Kill Bill (any of them): 0.85
A Clockwork Orange: 0.84
Requiem For a Dream: 0.79
The Big Lebowski: 0.69

Most of the popular-ish movies (Secretary, Shaun of the Dead, Edward Scizzorhands, Rushmore, Garden State, Blade Runner, The Princess Bride, Rocky Horror) end up around .4-.5, so Eternal Sunshine is pretty far up there, though I don't have an exhaustive list or anything like that, so there may be another dozen movies above Fight Club that I haven't thought of. In other words, it's not a scientific survey, but it's kind of interesting, and without a doubt, Eternal Sunshine is not the most popular.

Willem Dafoe in drag sealed the deal for me. It's one of those film moments, like Christopher Walken with the watch up his ass in 'Pulp Fiction', that just sticks with you. Brilliant.
