3:10 to Yuma and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

And by the way I love long titles like that! smile

Yeah me too, But I liked Jesse James a tiny bit better.

I mean like the casting of it. Casey Affleck and Sam Rockwell, Not to mention Pitt.

Yuma had a good cast also. It's just the runner up.

Oh, yeah, I liked how dark Jesse James was. At first, I was worried that it was going to have, perhaps, a campy edge to it, but yeah, it was a movie that after I was done watching it, thought about it for a couple of weeks, yet in the same right felt satisfied after I watched it.

Yeah very sad movie, Also The Mist was haunting me a few days after I saw it.

There's something about that ending that is cruel but works effectively.

you know, I didn't see that, but wanted to. Now that you are speaking of it this way, I feel it's prompting me to rent it next week. Thanks for bringing that up wink

You'll like it's so much better than Cloverfied.

It a lot like a Twilight Zone episode.

How do you define underrated? Critical acclaim? Awards? Box office performance?

If you ask me, the single most underrated film of last year was Once.

Well they didn't get much media exposure like Juno...

I always define underrated for movies as not really big box office makers.
But really great reviewed and well liked.

I mean Jesse James only made about 4 million in the Domestic box office.

Then how does 3:10 to Yuma get on your list? It had a domestic gross of over 53 million and debuted on over 2600 screens, compared to five for The Assassination of Jesse James. Jesse James didn't perform well at least in part because nobody could go see it.

Hmm that's a great question. I knew 3:10 made some money at the box-office. I didn't think it was that much though.

In way I just like to compare these two. Because they came out around the same time. And they're westerns with sad haunting endings. Another thing I know both movies got like Oscar nominations. But not really the major ones.

Except for Casey, But they got the tech. nominations, Editing, etc.
