Kill Your Screen-Saver

It seems that screen savers do more harm than good for modern flat-screen computers. Which is too bad, cuz I set up a fun little slide-show for mine

The Internet, being the weird place that it is, has brought me to this: SurveillanceSaver. It is a screensaver that displays live feeds of surveillance cameras from all over the world.

Let your disturbing voyeurism run rampant.

what's the most fun is seeing random camera angles from Yugoslavia at like 3AM.


i'm afraid though i'm gonna see some horrific crime committed, and then the killer will look directly into the camera and it'll be like he's staring right at me

I use the power saver setting. Bad boy turns off the monitor after a few minutes. The computer goes into sleep mode after 20.

Oh man that's awesome!

it's utterly fascinating.

the places that are displayed come from all around the world, and it's a sort-of free globetrotting experience. sometimes the images are grainy and dark, and that adds an element of mystery. sometimes they're empty and it's haunting. it's really interesting though when there are people in frame (which doesn't happen often).
