That's a really wonderful thing for SG to do! Virtually everyone I know is in the army and they're deploying in a few months. I'll make sure to get all their APOs and give them to y'all so they can get some SG cheer!
Article from today. SG Community Diary column from IDF soldier that some of you might find interesting.

as a soldier myself, i think this is truely awesome. I know what it's like over there and i know how uplifting getting a special care package can be for morale. I'll be going back soon, and i know I'd like to see more of that happen. Keep up the awesome work ladies!!
great work ladies! ever think about expanding to people not just in the desert but in places like korea? i know i could have used some cheering up while i was there
I think sending packages to our guys over there is great. My hubby is over there now and I send him packages constantly.I don't think they should be sent nude pictures though. They can get in a lot of trouble if they are caught with them.I sure as hell don't want my hubby to get an article 15.But still it's a great thing what you guys are doing for our troops.A lot of the guys over there don't have anyone.
This is absolutely awesome, I stumbled across it on Sunshine's page. You ladies should be commended, lord knows we all love pin ups, especially military ones. Thanks for your support.
Im sure a lot of Canadian soldiers serving in Afghanistan would love to get this sort of thing(i know i would), if anyone who is responsible for this is still reading the thread, Canadian soldiers can be sent mail at the address:
*A Canadian Soldier( or RANK/INITIALS/NAME
UNIT/SECTION, if specifics are known)*
OP ATHENA
PO BOX 5058 STN FORCES
BELLEVILLE ON K8N 5W6
and If mailing by Canada Post, any postal services costing $5 or more is GST exempt.
just throwing that out there...
and this is an awesome idea, kudos for it
Only just noticed this - fantastic idea. I was in the Royal Air Force and a letter or magazine from someone boosts morale no end. Especially when compared to some visit by a politician who says you're doing a great job etc... but refuses to budget sufficient funds for proper equipment or decent housing for our families.
Of all the places I've visited though, the US has to be my favourite. I had the privelage of working alongside some great USAF folk and being invited over for Thanksgiving when I was in the country. Compared to the UK, the people in the US treat you well, even if they don't agree with what you do for a living. Meanwhile, back here in the UK, being in the Military means getting treated like a second class citizen no better than scum.
I've left now due to mental injury, but I still send magazines and the like to people overseas and keep in touch with my US friends and families.
Thankyou for doing this. Whilst I won't benefit from this project, I know it will give the boys and girls* overseas a great morale boost.
*Here in the UK, we welcome homosexuals into the military so I know there'll be a few happy women to see photos and the like of the SG's...You just need to send something for the gay men
This is great, I can tell you that most of the soldiers are most definitely ecstatic about it. Keep up the great work ladies us "Joes" need this type of motivation and encouragement to keep us going. We appreciate you all just as much as our service to the country is appreciated.
