Spell "tattoo" correctly!!! I can't stand it anymore....How can you have a tattoo and still spell it t-a-t-o-o or t-a-t-t-o. Half of the profiles that I've seen have tattoo spelled incorrectly in their "body mods" section.

Let this be known as an effort on my part to help out.

I used to go on a murderous rampage over the incorrect use of "their", "there", and "they're"... as well as "your" and "you're" but I eventually stopped caring.

Pleading for correct spelling on the internet? Maybe next time you should set your sights a little lower, like finding a cure for the internet's virgins.

Uh...I think these are same people whose actual tattoos are pictures of Snoopy carrying a surf board that they picked outta a big book one night after about five too many beers.

Word, Amina. And people, while you're at it:

1. Learn the difference between "its" (belonging to it) and "it's" (contraction of "it is").

2. The plural form of a noun does not contain an apostrophe. Anywhere. More than one tattoo is "tattoos", not "tattoo's."

Really - these aren't that difficult to remember. Think about it, won't you? Thank you. smile

i believe the problem is due to accent. if you listen closely, some people say 'tat-too', and some people say 'ta-too'. if you say it 'ta-too' (which isn't 'wrong' if it's due to accent) it makes perfect sense that you'd mispell it. there are other mispellings directly related to accent (although right now i'm drawing a blank) and i try not to hold people responsible for them (some of them affect me sometimes).

in fact, i'm generally an excellent speller, and i spell tattoo wrong sometimes. (i usually stare at it for five minutes whenever i go to use it). it's just one of those things... and i'm sure everyone else has their own spelling/pronunciation hangups so i never quite understand why people get so annoyed at those of others. i mean, if the person is writing 'hey dood chk out my tatoes, they rawk u world'... then, yea, hate on them. but one mispelling? eh.

(edited to add)
p.s. - i should also mention that i try to be extremely lenient on things like spelling, even the 'hey doods'. some people can't spell... but they still need to communicate. people assume they're stupid, but sometimes they're just not educated. other times, as in the case of a close friend of mine, they have some learning disability such as dyslexia that impairs their reading/writing but not their mind. (he's one smart cat, just can't spell or read)

(also edited for a incorrect pluralization)

um, it's actually correct either way, i believe.

original reads easier with a comma = "i know you're lost, little puppy". read it like it said "i know you're lost, dillagan"

your correction is also correct, if he was trying to tell you that you are a puppy that is lost. but he was just telling you that you were lost, and using the nick 'little puppy' to pound it home.
