I suppose this is about as close as the SG boards will get to talking about legitimate theatre. *sigh* Meanwhile, Caryl Churchill, one of the finest living playwrights (I think when Albee and Pinter die, she will be the finest) has only her second Broadway show ever (the first one twenty years ago) with a 25 year old play. About fucking time, Broadway.

RENT is closing because they couldn't sell enough tickets even when the original Mark and Roger were performing again. Not because the newer shows are forcing it out.
