With my son in daycare and me not always at home when I am off of work I like having the phone. If something happens (fever, upset stomach) they can actually reach me when I'm not at work.

Plus I work on the other side of the island (45 min away) and there is ONE way to get there (yep that's right ONE ROAD to get from here to there) And that road follows the Maui coastline. I would not much enjoy being stuck on the side of the road without my phone. Especially since I have Nextel Direct Connect. No extra long distance charges, and mega min a month for less than my dad's fax line at home.
