Do you buy drinks for women you don't know?

Something Clara said in the Wing-Babe thread got me thinking about this.

How many of you guys buy drinks for women at bars? I know a lot of guys do it and I'm curious as to why they do it.

You see, I have an older sister. I used to listen to stories about how guys would buy her drinks when she went out. She would tell me how dumb guys were and that they'd buy her drinks all the time. Often she'd never even have to spend a dollar when she went out, because of these idiots buying her drinks. Now, she had pretty much all male friends, so she was never in any danger. She said she'd never do it if she wasn't out with the guys.

It's just that every time I've been out and I've seen guys tell the bartender to send a drink over to some girl....they never seem to get with that girl.

I never, ever buy drinks for women I don't know. I guess hearing my sister's stories wised me up. Now, it has happened that I've met a girl at a bar, struck up a conversation and THEN I'll buy a round for her and myself....but never would I tell the bartender to send a drink to a girl just because I wanted to fuck her.

so, I was just wondering if any of you guys actually do that. If you have, how often do you actually go home with the girl.

The way I see it, if a guy is dumb enough to buy you a drink out of the blue, he deserves the mistreatment.

I've never done it. It seems like such a corny thing to do....

A lot of times just going up to her and saying hello works really well.

alot of the bars here are small, so sometimes its cool to buy a round of shots for everyone at the bar, especialy when there are a group of cute girls. The best part is, after I buy the round, I never move in, I just offer them a 'cheers' and bottoms up. But sometimes the girls will come over and say thanks, and strike up a conversation. thats how I seperate the pretentious ones from the down to earth ones.

i buy rounds when i get drunk.

i won't buy a drink for someone i don't know. but if i met a girl at a bar, and we were already talking, then if i was going up to buy me another drink, i would offer to buy her another one. but, i won't just randomly buy a girl a drink. guys that do that are usually pretty dumb, and the girls that always expect that are pretty dumb as well.

not that i'm any smarter. i'll buy maxx drinks though.

I buy drinks for chicks in bars all the time.

See, I buy anything I can afford (which isn't a lot) for anyone whether I'm sober or drunk. I'm just fucking stupid with money.
