Hi boards.
I'm tall, like woah.
I'm 6'6". I've outgrown all of my joints. Whenever I become injured, it is due to hyperextending my tendons and joints.
I'm sick and tired of the "How's the air up there?" comments, and the "Why dontcha play basketball?" comments.

Being tall downright sucks.
Who's with me?

I'm always in the back of photographs, being asked to get shit off the top shelves (if you can't reach it, why do you have the fucking shelf?), and my bike-seat doesn't go up high enough.

I hate being the lifting guy. Why don't they just get a goddamn forklift?

Not so nice when you try to dance with a short girl . . . although if she's wearing a low cut shirt, the angle is just right to claim "I was just looking at your eyes" biggrin

Sometimes I wish I could see a girl eye-to-eye, rather than chest-to-eye.

Being tall sucked for me in 8th grade when they asked (demanded) that I play center on the school basketball team. I was beyond awful and really disliked it. I think the coach put the word out and no one ever asked again...

For the most part, though, it's been alright.

I'm only 6' and i get the "Can you reach up there?" question all the time. I can only assume it would be worse if i was taller.

And i like teeny girls too, usually the height difference is only a half-foot or so, but, i feel your pain guys, not quite as much as you guys do.

I have a friend who's 6'1".

I once asked her, "how's the weather was up there?"

She replied "Hmm.... looks like rain!" and proceeded to spit on me.

I'm not that tall - six feet - but by Southeast Asian standards that's pretty big. I've never dated anyone I was eye-to-eye with, and usually it's not even close.

Sometimes when I hug people my face is crotch level to them.

I like really tall people, though. blush

The grass is always greener, you know?

The flipside is having a hard time finding clothes that fit, never being able to see at concerts and never having a chance to dunk.

Or, in the case of men, women turning you down because you're too short for their tastes, and being infantilized.

From my slightly above average height perspective, seems to be that being taller is preferrable to being shorter, at least in our society.

Yeah, I was going to mention that, but I figured I'd let it pass. I used to be really insecure about my height for that reason. I'm not really that short, like 5'7ish, but because of that there are definitely women who won't give me a second look. If you're the kind of guy who likes to pick up girls in bars or clubs, being below average height is a huge strike against you.

That said, I've gotten over it. I've gotten to the point where I don't really consider it a disadvantage, rather it's one thing that weeds out girls that I wouldn't want to date anyway.

The fact that I ALWAYS have to have my pants hemmed pisses me off more these days.

How about when women turn you down because you're too big for their tastes, and being seen as monstrous? Also, It's really hard to find the bizarre size combinations of the big and tall, except at overpriced big and tall stores. I feel self-conscious when I'm able to see at concerts, because I instantly know that I am blocking someone's view.

I could be wrong as I only speak from my limited social sphere, but men are turned down more often for being too short rather than too tall.

But then, short people never have to worry about ceilings. I used to live in an attic apartment that some of my friends couldn't enter without stooping.

Doorways hgt is 6'8" and I'm 6'5" and I've hit my head on the TOP of the doorway before. surreal

I have that problem on local public transport. Everything is scientifically designed to be just the right height for someone six inches shorter than I am.

I'm always bumping into things designed for people like Subrosa's height and size. I stub my toes on nearly every thing on the floor/ground.

I hate my shoes being referred to as "boats" and "skis." Doorways are the mongoose to my snake.
