I switched to Mozilla Firebird a couple months ago and have been using AdAware for about a year. That worked great for a while but lately the popups are getting through and overwhelming my computer. It's driving me insane. Does anyone know of any popup killers that work? Please help me.

Hey, get a Google toolbar and it'll block all the pop up ads. Well, except the ones that look like Windows prompt boxes. Anyway, mine has blocked 338 pop ups to date. Yea! robot

The Windows pop-up messages are caused by Windows Messenger Services, which is not the same thing as Microsoft Messenger (MSN Messenger). Here's a Guide to Disabling Messenger Services. wink Enjoy.

Download the newest version of Mozilla. It has a built-in pop-up blocker that works so well it's amazing.

I ditto what Cherry said about SpyBot. You may want to download that since you're most likely getting stuff from a bot like Gator or Common Name. Once you clear those off your system, the newer Mozilla will keep the rest out.

Someone posts a thread just like this every few months or so, don't they? And you know what? Cherry's always there to the rescue. Go Cherry!

And VitaminPink, that Google toolbar thingy is just spyware in disguise. It's evil, and you are being used.
