John Cusack is going to say anything he pleases, and if you're smart you won't try to stop him. He attributes the genesis of his new anti-war film, War, Inc., to the moment seven years ago when Bush administration spokesman Ari Fleischer had the gall to look Americans in the eye and tell them that they "better watch what they say." "I was like, 'Oh, right. Fuck you!'" Cusack says, calling up SuicideGirls during a break on a London film set to vent about his many frustrations, ranging from the snake-oil...
Way to go John! An insanely talented actor, that one. Even if I do not agree with his politics, it is a very good thing he is doing. If you're going to say your piece, go for the fucking jugular! I shall definitely make a point to check it out when I hit up Dublin next week.
First saw it on DVD late in 2008, when I saw it on the rack here on base in Japan. ^_^ I'm a fan of Cusack's work, and the teaser on the back of the case had me THOROUGHLY intrigued, what with the upcoming election & my own career in the military.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars, and have re-watched it after most major events in the Middle East to keep it fresh in my mind when I'm perusing both sides of the news. Hell, it's even better than this: I'll take a cue from Spinal Tap and turn it up to 11.
