annoying apartment neighbors

you ever notice that no matter where you go, there's always that one person who plays really really bad music at full volume?

i was happy to escape my parents house, what with my across the stret neighbor... who even though was a cool guy was always waking me up by blasting the local alternative radio station that hasn't played anything good since 1998 (even though sometimes he's be playing slayer so that's not too bad), and there where my next door neighbors who, being hispanic and party animals, where always bumping mexican polka/ mariachi shit.

i finally move out to an apartment complex i was told is quiet, and now every day i'm assaulted audially by the evita soundtrack (which i loathe more than most things) as well as numerous lionel ritchie esque 1980's soft rock hits, such as richard marx and the karate kid 2 song.

and now the crazy bitch is singing to... AAAAARGH!!!!!

Get a bitchin' system and let 'em fuckin' have it man.

Might i suggest playing some Motorhead, i always find it annoys the straights like few others can.

Our neighbors have a tendency to blast their car horn... loudly... for long periods... when they're picking their roommate up for work or whatever. This happens anywhere between 8 AM and 11 PM, and usually three times during that period. I asked the guy if he could just get out of his car and ring the doorbell like a civilized person, and he told me to fuck off.

It's a very old Cadillac, so the horn is LOUD, and the stupid Viper alarm goes off at least once a day. Ugh.

Other than that, our neighbors have been okay. Our landlord lives upstairs, and noise doesn't travel between our apartments. The next-door neighbors and their car are the only issue.

This works for so many urban problems. Nothing pisses people off faster than "999" or "Jailbait" played at concert-level volumes.

I find that blasting the Velvet Underground's White Light, White Heat (or, really, any other suitably noisy record) for long periods is a good way to deal with people who won't be good neighbors and turn down the music. I think it's better if you have a crap stereo, too, because the distortion makes it much harsher.

I played music at obscene volumes in a terraced house for nearly 4 years on a seriously bitchin' system. My neighbours never complained once and they deserve sainthoods.

Serious hi-fis are great though as I did stop the fucker next-door who thought it was fine to play the drums at whatever time by blasting 'Snuff - Asshole' through the wall. He quickly got the message.

i've found that motorhead annoys me to much to bother to blast...

i tried playing the live @ the brixton acadamy atari teenage riot cd, which is just 35 minutes of pure solid noise with no breaks stops or anything on repeat while i was at work... no one got the hint.

this chick also shouts the word fuck very loudly at 4 AM... i hate 40 year old drunk spinsters

I must admit that I AM that annoying neighbor.. It is a hobby of mine to play very loud music at all times.. so if you live beside or below me.. well.. sucks for you!

my first place had one person playing mexican polka at deafening volumes nearly all day, every fucking day. my current... not as often, but they left their fucking shit-pop blasting in the stereo with the bass cranked up for 3 days straight when they left town. douchebags. they didn't bother unsetting the alarm on their clock either, so that went off... and stayed on for hours. the other night she wrote down the license plate of my friends truck because we were talking outside and she thought we were stealing hubcaps.. HUBCAPS. if you know us, that's just completely absurd. but, i DO have blue hair.....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. omg.. stealing hubcaps.. classic. I love how paranoid people can get and assume the most fucking dumb shit.. i mean really.. who the fuck goes around stealing hubcaps anymore..

The apartment above mine has been vacant for a few months now, so I haven't had that problem lately. But new people are moving in shortly ... I'm curious to see how that goes.

My friends and i would go to my best friends house every evening after school because his folks didn't get home 'til late.
The first thing we would do after getting there is open up all the windows and doors and crank up his stereo which we had dubbed " The Terminator ".
This thing had speakers as big as me and would literally shake things off of the walls anywhere in the house.
It was a six disc changer and we'd load that fucker up with all the mainstays; Motorhead, Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, etc., etc.
We would get complaints from across town, and this was in a residential/industrial area.
If the cops hadn't already knew us by name then they would have after all those evenings of deafining, drug-addled, heavy metal inspired, bliss.
Aaahhhh, good times.

I had a few noisy coke-head nieghbors live next to me a while back . they didnt stay very long . My badside , is pretty small , but you dont want to be there for any amount of time .
one of them is now supposedly a crackhead in the bay area . . . good way to thin out the gene pool . they were swiming in the shallow end anyhow .

Sorcha , a good rebutle to the car horn is to go to "pepboys" , or a local equivalent auto parts store and get one of those compressed air horns . everytime they honk , just stick your arm out the window and give them a good blast . I used to use them as a horn in an old car i had that didnt have a working horn . . . scared a few people to the point of almost shittnig thier pants

Right now I've got this neighbor that decides to sit in his car at 1:34 am everyday, it never fails, and blasts a mixtape worth of bad rap. Ughh! What's more annoying than that? Those outdoor dwellers, you know the ones, they never ever GO INSIDE their APARTMENT. They stand in the door, they see everything; who's coming over for dinner, what time you leave for work, the new guy you're dating. When you leave the house they are watching.
