...coming up on Sunday. And I haven't got my mom anything yet.

I need your help. I need gift ideas. Something I can buy online and hopefully have delivered by then (or by Monday).

I've done the flower thing and stuffed animal thing to death. So, I was thinking about this. But she's not big on sweets. But the ingredients in some of those items (e.g. jasmine tea + lemongrass + fresh coconut) got me to thinking about teas, aromas, beauty products and all that other frilly stuff that is foreign to so many of us dudes. Where can I get that stuff online? Any other suggestions for gifts along that line?

Anyhoo, please feel free to use this thread to give me suggestions OR just post what you're getting your own mothers for Mother's day (so us procrastinators can steal your ideas).

Thanks!

I usually get my mom fancy martini mixers. She's kind of a booze hound.

1-800-FLOWERS kiss

Edit, shit you don't want flowers.

In my experience, women are always happy to have more beautiful

bath products
lotions
perfume.

You won't fail. Knowing your mom's favorite scents or colors can be guides. The simplest places like Target have beautiful assortments.

But I don't know --- you say you want them delivered. If gifts can only be delivered, investigate what 800-Flowers has b/c different locations carry different non-floral items.

My mom loves to garden, so instead of flowers, last year I got her a basket with different seeds, garden tools, gloves and two flower pots that held Citronella candles.

Think of a hobby she may like.

Brilliant! I've done that with my gardening grandparents...they were in love.

Buy your mom a gift certificate for a day spa where she lives. Massage, facial, manicure and pedicure, etc etc. She will LOVE you.

I've got a better idea. Buy your mom a bag of regular M&Ms and tell her they are personalized. M is for Mom!

Not really. Spa certificates, people. Moms want massages and pedicures and facials.

Thank you! I've posted to the bugs thread about this, no avail.

At least someone saw what I'm talking about.

I give my mom the respect she deserves for the other 364 days of the year.

Before you call me an asshole, or an idiot...that's the way my mom wants it. She specifically told me that years ago.

My mom's a little non-traditional. She thinks mother's day & valentine's day are silly...she refused an engagement ring because she thought it was a waste of money.

I like my mom.

I taught myself to knit a few days ago and made my mom a pink heart dishcloth. It's god-awful and chock-full of rookie mistakes, but she positively loves it anyway (I gave it to her a day early).

So, essentially, I chose to give her the slightly more mature version of macaroni art. It only cost me seven dollars in supplies and about 8.5 hours of my life.

Cute!

I just got my mother smelly goods from Bath and Body Works. She loves that Vanilla stuff they sell. I don't blame her. It smells good enough to eat. A friend of mine actually did. But, that's a topic for another time. wink tongue
