Honestly, I can't quite decide, I was a little resistant at the David Tennant switch because Chris was so good. But after watching the third season, I went back for one and realized I now liked Tennant better... Judas.

p.s. - Stick to the game, though. Maybe you think Jon Pertwee was the better, but I'm just curious about the 'new' version of the series.

David Tennant. But really, you should join the Dr Who group for this.

I'd go with Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker just as much as Tom. They were all good to me.

I'm liking Tennant more than any of the others, he's brought new life and energy into something I believed was over.

Out of the new breed i prefer Christopher Eccleston.

But Tom Baker is the best.

When Tennant started, I thought he was the better of the two. But I've gone off him a bit... he's been getting a bit too hammy at times. I haven't watched any of the latest series apart from bits of the first episode. (Not because of Tennant, mind, but mainly because of the terrible little critters in the first episode. And Catherine Tate. I worry the whole thing has jumped the shark).

Yeah, I personally like Davison the best, since I started watching the original series on PBS w/"The Five Doctors"

Though McCoy gets props for having the best old school titles/theme music

This is what I was going to post early this morning when I came here . But you had already beaten me to it . Anyone else ever see the episode of Remington Steel with Tom Baker playing a assassin ? Not bad , but didn't live up to the hype my mind built it up to . The big knock with the Baker episodes is the tin foil / invisible monster issue . " We can't afford special effects this week ! Make the minster invisible , no problems . " I would love to see what his years on the show would have looked like with the current shows look .

Eccleston, actually. I'm an American, so he was my first Doctor.

No, I take that back. I remember watching that Doctor Who TV movie years ago. Who was that?

The one set at new year (possibly the turn of the millenium)? Paul McGann.

I know this is veering off the point a little, but I already answered the question, so... Tennant isn't going to be in the role forever, and I would like to see David Morrissey given the job. He's already got a part in the next christmas special.

I'm pretty sure you were born just to go into boards and 'break the rules', like a worthless James Dean. (which is bad, because he already didn't have a cause.)

I know I'm opening myself up for worthless ridicule, but I haven't really seen any of the old episodes. I'm sure Tom Baker is great, and he'll be the first I'll check out when I have $50 extra lying around for an old season of Doctor Who.

Oy. Doesn't he have a limited number of regenerations? Cutting it a bit close, isn't he?

Well, going back to watch it, Chris's sillier times were much more silly than David's. Though, David is sillier more often and doesn't have as much silly material (i.e. - living mannequins and 'the last human')

I like Tennant more. It may be because I'm use to seeing Eccelston in more serious roles (Elizabeth, Existenz, 28 Days Later ,etc.) , and Tennant didn't have an already ingrained association with him. Plus he comes across like he is having fun doing it (to me at least).
