i'll probably only need to call a couple times a month.
should i use one of those 10-10-something numbers? (do those work with cell phones?)
should i just pick up some country specific calling cards?
should i work on my telepathy skills?
should i make PB and honey or PB and jam?
well? well?

commence thread hijacking..................now.

i've said it before and i'll say it again. jesse tanner tells us that with 10-10-987 we can call the us, canada, and western europe for only 3 cents a minute with a 39 cent connection fee. and no 10-10 numbers will not work on a cell. i dont think.

just make sure you attend an English class for a few months first, so the caller can understand what the fuck you're saying.

i mean, we invented the damn language. that's why it's not called American.

Hmm... maybe we should get a few of your average U.K. football fans on camera, and then see if the claim to proper english holds up. whatever

If you call using a 10-10 number, let us know if it actually works that easily. I've always wondered that. blush

Errrm... what does this have to do with the original post?

I actually think Americans speak the language much better than a lot of British people do. I even heard a TV presenter on a wildlife show say (when referring to some animal) "It CREEPED along". I mean, we can't complain when we get the language wrong just (if not more) often.

The great thing about the english language (moreso than many other languages) is that because it is used in so many countries all around the globe, there are so many different dialects and there are SO many millions of words to describe the same thing, that it's truly versatile.

I like the way Americans speak. It makes me giggle.

I hate the way a lot of British people speak because it's Thick.

i use 10-10 numbers for all long distance usage. they really do work like they say you just use it then with your phone bill you get an extra little page from the 10-10 company with the charges. and it's always been what they say it is, never any hidden charges or anything. i'm a big 10-10 advocate.

You could come by my office. I work for a company based in the UK, so calls to England don't attract any special notice. tongue

It's also nice to know that I can send an email to one of the big bosses at about noon my time, and just goof off the rest of the day. ("Well, I can't do that until I hear back from the UK.") Bless you, Greenwich Mean Time.

When I call western Europe from the states I use 10-10 987.
go to http://www.1010987.com to see if the country you are trying to call is listed.
Its a 36 cent connection fee and 4 cents a minute there after.
