I'm lost

Hmmm. If the same guy who wrote the script for scooby doo, wrote the script for this then maybe I won't be seeing it. I saw the trailer before Texas Chainsaw also and it looked like it had potential.

imdb link for d.o.t.d.

you'll notice the 3 writers are famous for such work as gleaming the cube, little man tate, get shorty, and the aforementioned scooby 1 and 2

also the director is some other guy who has absolutely no credits to his name.

sounds like it's going to be fantastic

Ya telling me "Dawn of the Dead" wasn't a comedy?

Its a poor film compared to his first zombie film "Night of the Living Dead" they couldn't possibly make "Dawn Of The Dead" any worse.

When I watched "Dawn Of the Dead" it reminded me allot of "The Crazies" but boring with zombies thou I did like watching the biker gang raiding the mall that was very amusing.

What about "Martin" now that would be worth remaking.

No dawn wasn't a comedy....it had its comedy moments....but if you think about it they werent there to be laughed at, rather than to demonstrate the sickening actions of society towards the problem they are facing....

half of humanity can't deal with it and are overrun by the dead, and the other half exploit the situation to their benefit....this also goes for the four lead characters.

Dawn is either a love it or hate it movie, and the problem at the moment is that there are too many versions running around....the longer 140 minute version is long, drawn out and bleak....sometimes its hard to watch....but the version romero wants you to see is the 120 minute version that is fast paced and evil...but retains a lot of the comical aspects of the movie....making it comic like but still keeping the overall commentary.

The crazies was a cool film....not as strong as Dawn or Day, but still good...

if someone remakes Martin i'd be mighty pissed....they need to leave Romero's movies alone now....they've blatantly turned Dawn into a Resident Evil-esque shit movie and it needs to be stopped before they get their grubby little mitts on Day of the Dead....

28 Days Later was awesome so i don't know what your complaining about. If the new Dawn of the Dead is half as good we will all be extremely lucky. You guys want an awesome zombie film? well actually zombie/ninja/yakuza/gangster film.. rent Versus. it's a japanese cult clasic with tonnes of violence and laughs which is not to be missed. mind you it's not at blockbuster... videomatica(small indy store).

doooooood...... scooby tripe dawn of the dumbass pfffft~!

we are living in some sort of sick time loop.

new dirty dancing!?!

new 'can't buy me love' (!?!?)

new TRON (yesss! not sure if its sequel like the game, or a remake .. oh wait the remake was called the Matrix.. MuahHAHAHA~ zing!)

however, looking very very forward to romero's next dead installment.
they've been talking of that for almost twenty years.

in '89 the thing was he had the option of an R rated 'night of' remake with loads of cash and advertisements, or an unrated fourth 'land/earth of the dead' type thing with half the $$$, no distribution and limited ads... as much as that remake blew, it probably will work out to be more interesting this way~ alot has changed in terms of what you can do on film since then. sigh...the early 90's~ almost as bad as the 80's/

as for all the remaking old movies stuff, i bet most of the inevitable video games will be better.

although TCM kicked ass somehow.

another trademarked mm23 quote-> * * PG13 horror is like R rated porn * *

if it is rated like a disney film, it needs a big fat SG member/horror fan boycott~ until it comes out on video that is.

let's sock it to them all and start re-making movies that haven't come out yet...

There was a scooby doo 2?
Was it straight to video?

Romero has a short zombie movie in "Two Evil Eyes" and Argento has one as well both tales are based on Edgar Allen Poe stories.

At this point most horror movies are remakes anyway so why not just use a story or name that can make sum money.

It hasn't come out yet, and it will definitely not be straight to video.
