I saw no dawn of the dead preview when I watched tmc frown

I think Romero wanted to remake it because he wasn't very happy with how the first original "Dawn Of The Dead" movie was done.

I heard it might be pg 13 was the preview rated?

MMMM I need brains "Return Of The living Dead" talkin thinking zombies craving brains to kill the pain of rigor mortis spoof of "Night of the Living Dead"
Great film.

This director guy is an idiot.

Dawn of the Dead remake is going to be shit.

My friend was a PA on Scooby Two and he had a conversation with the writer and he had the gal to sya that 28 Days later is a better film and one of the most original ideas in years.

So if that gives you an indication of what kind of bullshit I'm sure will make a hundred million becasue of the name...

AND I CANT GET 60000 (CDN) TO FINISH MY MOVIE! FCUK.

and IcebergSlim? Don't say shit about Canadian Films. The opening credit sequence for Porkys has more class than 90 percent of Hollywood flicks.

Ohh the joy of seeing this thread!! Dawn of the Dead is my favourite film of all time. I'm looking forward to this remake just to see what they've done with it....its bound to be a complete piss take and have none of the original socio-political commentary.

James gunn wrote the script for the remake, he wrote Scooby Doo....

to my knowlede, the Director Zack Snyder, hasn't made a feature film before, like Romero, he started out making commercials.

Tom Savini, Ken Foree, and Scotty Reiniger all have cameos in the film....and the Department store is called Gaylen Ross fashions lol.

Romero had NOTHNG to do with this movie, except that his name is on the opening credits for original Screenplay. Richard Rubinstien, the original Producer, has sold the rights to it.

As for 28 Days later, I love that film...its a retelling of romero's work but its updated, scary and is extremely well written. The camera work is amazing and most of the acting is top notch, sans Megan Burns who needs to be shot.

in other news, a remake of Day Of the Dead is being planned....fuck em!!! leave it alone!! its like digging up a grave and pissing all over the coffin for profit....ARGHHHHH

in other, other news....its rumoured that Romero has been offered 20 million to do Land of the Dead, (retitled from Dead Reckoning) which sees a fortified city lose control of its armoured vehicles in the wake of the zombie onslaught....I won't give too much away but it sounds fantastic....if fox pull out of the deal, apparently John Carpenter has put up his own money to see romero make it!!! cool stuff!!

WHY MUST THEY REMAKE GREAT FILMS! Dawn of the Dead is my favorite of the three orignal. The remake of Night of the Living Dead was HORRID, to say the least ('85 verison). What are they thinking. Also, most of the NofLD DVD's, suck. Especially the 30th Aniversery special one. They cut like 15 minutes, added crappy scenes that did not fit, and the music was by some pseudo-goth industrial bastard, that sucked dick and played the falsest looking priest I have ever seen, in one of the added in seens. There, I am done venting.

i remember seeing "spawn" in the theaters and it was pg-13. when it came out to rent they had a rated r version too. it also sucked and i couldnt really tell what had been added back into it. plue after 15 versions of the evil dead movies on dvd and tape that all have the same features and all claim to be the directers cut or super delux edition, i am very weary of dvds that claim things like being uncut.

but i still like "Return Of The Living Dead" better

the movie could be freshened up a bit with better fxs and filming but I don't think a first timer can do it justice frown

Hey, if they are reasonably fresh, zombies do run. Haven't you seen Return of the Living Dead? It's only the decomposing zombies like "Tar Man" that are slow. *chuckle*

Ya telling me "Dawn of the Dead" wasn't a comedy?

Its a poor film compared to his first zombie film "Night of the Living Dead" they couldn't possibly make "Dawn Of The Dead" any worse.

When I watched "Dawn Of the Dead" it reminded me allot of "The Crazies" but boring with zombies thou I did like watching the biker gang raiding the mall that was very amusing.

What about "Martin" now that would be worth remaking.

Well, Return of the Living Dead had it's funny moments, but it was not a comedy. While I love Day of the Dead, I find Dawn of the Dead a little boring at times, and far less disturbing than either of the others. Fast intelligent zombies are scary, though slow retarded zombies are a little disturbing if you are trapped by huge numbers of them.
