Seems like even the pigeons have seen better days... As I write, I am sitting inside of a decrepit laundry mat across from a condemned, Triple XXX porno shop in Hollywood. There's a vagrant missing most of his teeth, growling about needing a better fix. I watch another man out of the corner of my eye plot to either assault me or steal my freshly laundered panties. If Del James were to write of this, our story would end with a vengeful witch, her skin pale olive, wreaking havoc upon these run-down...

having read the Del James book The language of Fear and am happy to tell you that this man is seriously FUCKED UP!

I love horror, I live and breath it every day, but reading The language of Fear did something that rarly happens to me, it scared me. In todays day and age of horror, we as an audience have seen the flesh ripped apart and fucked with in a million different ways, and that has ceased to be scary, but his book goes well beyond the flesh, he dives head first in the ugly composition of the human psyche.
His characters do things that are unforgivable, unfathomable, and just plain nasty. When can we read the next book....and have my stomach doing flipflops again!

Thank you Fractal so fucking much for doing this interview, it was very revealing and telling, and I cannot wait to read your next one!

Del you rule!!

What funny guy that Del is.... I have never gotten my hands on any of his literature, but I do want to now. Even in his speech, though some may call it crude, i see the imagination, rich perspective, and the story weaving abiity of any good auhor.
His life experiences have been such that would lend to his unique voice in his genre.
Great interview!!!!!!

His stories are pretty intense. I read Language of Fear when I was 14 or so and some of the images and such have stuck with me vividly since then.
