Someone set fire to a bag of dogshit and put it through my parent's letterbox once. It set fire to the doormat and probably would have burnt the house down if my dad hadn't been in and smelt the pungent aroma of flaming shit. But that was only a small brown paper bag, hardly a sack.

If you've seen a horse and carriage in a city, you've probably seen sacks of shit. In the Colonial-era parts of Philly, for example, you can hire a carriage to take you on a little tour of the area. Carriages are required to have a bag placed behind the horse's, er, hindquarters to catch waste, so it doesn't befoul the streets. Hence, tourists ride with shit.
