I dunno....I think sequels that weren't made right afterwards tend to be pretty bad. I mean as much as you want to bring it back it can never be duplicated and be as good as the original...take the brady bunch movie for example...or the brady bunch christmas special...granted the brady bunch isn't as awsome as 16 candles but I still don't think a sequel is going to be as good.

There was talk of a Pretty In Pink sequel a few years ago and it never happened. So much of the humor in Sixteen Candles wouldn't fly nowadays. Too much fucking PC bullshit.Plus all the grandparents are dead and they were the best part of the movie.

I think the Breakfast Club would work out better, but what would REALLY rule is a Weird Science sequel. It would be nice to see Bill Paxton back as Chet.

Amen...
And as mentioned above, would the humor translate to today's audience...
Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of my all time favorite films, but would a sequel really work? I think not. It would be...
Ferris: "Hey, it's Ferris here, I'm not feeling too good, I can't make it into work today..."
Boss: "No problem, buddy, see you on monday. Feel better..."
End of movie...

I'm slightly scheptical about Goonies II for similar reasons. I just don't think the characters (and the situations they were in) are things that translate into the adult world...

It will most likely suck, since then movies and television has evolved into some sick horrible PC crowd-pleasing, bland no-intellect humor. Do you think that ANY of the film makers will be able to pull it off without pissing everyone off? I wonder if it will have a whole bunch of computer graphics to sell it- like Star Wars. hahah I'd laugh. Besides, who wants to see the cutest cast that ever lived get old anyway? I'll remain skeptical
