i absolutely love this show. its almost stopping my heartbreak for six feet under (another show that i adored). i think that it maybe one of the best series that hbo has come up with, well its definitely up there on the top five list.
so do any you like it or do you loathe it ?
im curious to know what others think of something that i think is better than sliced bread itself.
?

I love this show! I'm addicted! and it's a really good tide over until 6 feet under starts again. My only complaint is that I wish it were 2 hours long instead of just one.

Yeah, fuck you guys with your HBO and your TV. I want to see this show so bad it makes me poop, but I don't have HBO, and so I can't watch it. My aunt won't even tape it for me, because she thinks it's bad.

Dammit.

What's it about? A depression era traveling carnival. It's wonderful, the color and the score, the costumes.. all make you feel poor and dirty. While the plot is just so out-there(supernatural) and funny and historical. It's like a cross between Twin Peaks and The Grapes of Wrath. Just watch it.

It's pretty much a story of good vs.evil but it's really fucked up and wonderful. Definately worth checking out.

I wish it was a little less slow. The exposition crawls along at a snail's pace. I still enjoy it, though. It's very pretty to look at, and I love, love, LOVE Clea DuVall to pieces.

Haven't seen it yet, but since I don't have HBO or time to watch tv I think I'll just wait till it comes out on DVD. Seems like it's got a great cast though.

i dont think its very slow at all, you just have to look for the little clues they give away each week. i really want to know who killed one of the dancing sisters ...?
im thinking the scotish guy ?
hmmmm
anyway. i still wish six feet under was back already :/
clair is so much like my sister its untrue !

A good way to get me to watch anything is to put Clancy Brown in it. I love that guy. He plays the Reverend, Justin.

I love the "Grapes of Wrath" meets Stephen King style of the show. It reminds me a lot of "the Stand."

I think dividing it up between the Carnivale and Justin kind've hurts the pacing of the show, and like someone else said if it was 2 hours instead of 1, that would certainly help. But the cast is so great. I don't think I've ever liked Nick Stahl in ANYTHING before, but he's exceptional in this. And Clea Duvall is awesome as well. I love the one sided conversations she has with her mother.

I too, think the bartender killed the dancer. I really dug him. I hope we see more of him.
