I own and enjoy Freaks: We Who Are Not As Others by Daniel P. Mannix. Interesting read with plenty of neat photos.

man oh man do i like siamese twins!!! im goin to get a tattoo of some for real! they are fascinating. i definitely have sympathy for them and their families though. its amazing to see the siamese twins that have overcome the limitations and struggles and have lived happy lives. thats cool as heck. plus, siamese dream is like one of the best albums ever. another plus for siamese twins!

Quick Freak Bibliography:

--Freak Show, by Robert Bogdan -- a social and critical history of the sideshow.
--Freakery, Cultural Spectacles of the Extraordinary Body, edited by Rosemarie Garland Thomas -- an excellent collection of criticism, literary and otherwise about different exhibits, from Tom Thumb to Michael Jackson.
--Freaks, We Who are not as others, by Daniel Mannix, as noted by Yummy Clara.
--Monsters, Human Freaks in America's Gilded Age, (the Photographs of Charles Eisenmann, Collected by Michael Mitchell, as noted by the lovely FallenIcarus.
--Sideshow U.S.A. by Rachel Adams, literary criticism including a chapter on Geek Love.
--Africans on Stage, edited by Bernth Lindfors -- a collection of essays on the display of Exotic Ethnics.
--Freaks, by literary critic Leslie Feidler (1978!).

There are plenty of others, including a few recent books on sideshow banner art, a novel about cheng and eng the original siamese twins, a book about The Lobster Boy murder in FLA. The most interesting, if'n you ask me are the Robert Bogdan and the thomson, the first two I've listed, as well as monsters. That should get you guys started...

P.S. also interesting is the movie "Chained For Life" that features the Hilton Sisters, the very Famous Siamese Twins of the 1920s and 30s. Hard to find.

I hear the Egyptian twins are recovering from their surgery quite well. CAT scans show little swelling at this time. Hope they're ok.
