If they were to start handing out action television shows Dieselboy would be the first one to get it just because of his names. It would be Damian Higgins IS DJ Dieselboy. To be blessed with a cool name like Damian is fine but then to call yourself Dieselboy it just isn't fair to an overweight Jew with the generic name.

Anyway Dieselboy is the most famous drum 'n' bass DJ in the United States. He has been at the forefront of the drum 'n' bass in America since it first gained popularity in the...

Damian is my buddy from WAY back. We DJ'ed gigs together in the Cleveland / Pittsburgh circle of terror since '91. Recently he rolled thru Columbus and played at RedZone. Now this is a big deal NOT because he played there (he has played there MANY times) but because THIS time he rocked the MAIN ROOM stage. EVERYWHERE jungle gets respect except lame-ass Cow-lumbus... ...well I am PROUD to say he rocked it like he was Motley CrŸe in '82!! Yikes! My brutha was on like Donkey Kong! It's been awhile since we played together and I knew he'd step it up a notch to show the lame house-heads around here how to get down, but myyyyyyy gawd.

Brought a tear to my eye Damian. For Real.

I'm so proud I could just shit myself.
Please come back soon.

Back in 1994 a friend of mine from high school graduated and his parents backed him the money to throw a rave at a skating rink as his graduation present. It was called Synovial Fluid and it was awesome. A few months before it he gave me a tape of Dieselboy's and it rocked. I still have it somewhere in my collection. Unfortunately I don't remember too many details from that night but I remember hearing some of the best damn techno and Dieselboy was one of the main DJs. Everytime I've seen his name somewhere I'm so glad that a great DJ from back in the day made it so big. Keep the beats coming!

Drum'n'bass good!

I'd completely forgotten about my love of it until I went into a club last night that I hadn't visited since 2001, and danced my ass off to some d'n'b. It fucking ruled.

I definitely came from a rock background to d'n'b. Nothing else really interests me.

And then this interview! Sweet.

I heard drum&bass at the first party I went to, when I was in high school. It was in a cold wearhouse on the out skirts of Sacramento. It was the first time I had heard any thing like it, and it changed my life. Of all the parties I've been to, and of all the jungle I've heard, Dieselboy rocks the dance floor harder than any one out there. Soldier's Story Forever!!!

Funny, I hadn't seen this interview before, and I'm one of those old schoolers who knew Damien way back when (mostly on MW-Raves, where we always threatened to fight for the honor of his D&B vs my Detroit Techno)...anyway, what a surprise to see DJ Kevy Kev right up there, and he was a member about as long as I have been. Hadn't seen him in years, we used to throw parties together and generally fuck shit up. Good times.

That nostalgia moment brought to you by the Geezers group...
