Trying to start a skate group

I'm trying to start a skate (roller, inline and ice) group, and its been turned down, but I don't wanna give up, so I'm trying to get some support going for this so I can resubmit the idea, so would anyone actually want to join this group, or am I just fighting a losing battle?

So tell your friends (but don't spam now) and fingers crossed if I get enough support on here I'll try again!!!

No idea, because all I got was a standard email. I just think there is the support out there if I can get it going.

Probably. If the email says "this topic is covered by another group" then definitely.

Also. There is a thread about the reasoning for group turn-downs stickied at the top of the "Everything SG" board.

Well I've looked and I don't think I'm duplicating anything thats already out there.

Thats the idea... places to skate as well, and so on.

Call it the Roller Derby group. They will be all over that.

Try maybe making it the inline skates/pogo stick/segway group

You must use proven modern marketing techniques. Call it "Extreme Group." This will bring the little bastards out of the woodwork like nobody's business.

Well I've got a topic going in the Roller Derby group now, so if I can get enough support there and here I'll re-submit my group application

i think you might be better off narrowing it down to just ice skating and then see if you an expand from there.

I thought about doing it that way, but I thought I might have a better chance adding roller and ice skaters together.

That way if there are only say 25 ice skaters and 25 roller skaters to start off I have a group of 50. And I figure I have more chance getting that off the ground than 2 smaller groups.
