Just a couple of things- As far as the gnawing on bird bones goes that's not entirely without precident. It's how people tend to eat quail, which is not all that uncommon a meal to find in nicer dining establishments. I've seen my father do it a few times, though I have yet to partake myself. Also, someone brought up foie gras and I wanted to point out that there is evidence to suggest that the whole force feeding of ducks and geese thing may not be quite as torturous as one might imagine, you're certainly welcome to look into it if you're interested. Finally, I take some offense at the suggestion that food is not a valid topic of inquiry, especially when it's being compared as such to metal... I mean, not for nothing, but metal? Whatever.
