My group request was approved. Feel free to stop on by if, like me, you're going through the fresh hell that is Microsoft certification.

Don't take it personally, but I sure hope I'll never have a reason to join that group.

I wish LicentiousZ was still on the site so I could nag him to join this group. We still have the A+ book on our shelf and I think he's cracked it twice. Him finally doing his MS certs are like my wet dream.

Incontrovertible evidence that there is something very wrong with people who read an applicant's resume, and the corporate world in general. biggrin

Yes, heaven forbid you get a job doing IT work for rich morons.

"What's this?"
"That's Microsoft Word."
"Does it bite?"
"Only sometimes."

I just don't imagine it's much fun to study for that certificate, that's all. Plus, I hope I'll never have to take on jobs where my familiarity with a certain piece or suite of software is of crucial importance.

I dunno, quite a few jobs in the tech industry depend on your familiarity with the deep operations of software like Windows or Fedora Core or Red Hat or Solaris or what have you.

I dunno about that either. Coders don't need certs.

By "IT field" I meant people who aren't quite insane enough to write code for a living. wink

"Fun" is a personal term. What you find fun and what i find fun are two different things. I can sit here all night and toy around with Unbuntu, read about Windows/ Fedora/RedHat/Solaris and be completely entertained.

I also find Math extremely fun and challenging, along with my electronics courses and PC courses at school. I enjoy what i go to school for, and hope that one day i get the privilege of doing it for a living.

My MS Cert will be one of many certs that i plan on obtaining. It's one more certification that gives me the leg up on the competition.

Seriously, I wish I had the funds to hire one of you Microsoft certified nerds to tell me how to register file types in an installer.
