Some people like them, some don't. Some people look good with them, some don't. It's really hard to gauge how people are going to react.

Some people will react like this, though - don't let 'em rattle your cage:

I like to grow a big crazy beard every now and then. It helps my face survive the blustery nor'easters in winter.

Edit: for what it is worth, this picture was taken a few years ago when I still drank, and I was reeeeeeal fuckin' drunk (that bottle was half grey goose and not my first drink). blackeyed

It totally depends on how well they are groomed. I am a fan.

Personally I hate a beard on myself, but hate shaving... Maybe to go back to the Wolverine mutton chops

I've been growing one for about a month now. I've never been a big fan, but I must say it doesn't look too shabby on me.

"The ladies" seem to like it, too, as far as I could determine.

beards rule IMO

after my last relationship ended, i said fuck it and grew a big viking beard. she liked a short beard, but i just let it grow long after. it ruled. now i keep it shorter and more groomed, because i feel badass with it. i look 12 without it smile

if you feel badass and it's not a hardhat zone go nuts!

I say go for it . Grow one for me . I can't due to work limitations . I have to be able to wear a dust filtering mask & can't have a beard , only a cheesy mustache .

I grew a beard out earlier this fall. My fiancee bitched about so much that I had to shave it. But, now that there's no fiancee anymore, I might just have to grow it back out. Cause, truthfully, I loved having it.

I like my goatee, though whenever I try to grow a full beard, it just looks mangy and ugly. When I shave off my goatee, I feel like a teenager.

I like beards on men who can actually grow them. I've seen some baby-faced guys attempt facial hair with near disastrous consequences.

Nobody really falls for that old beard thing. Be honest with the ladies. Be out and proud! We'll love you just the way you are. tongue

Beards are the natural way of showing how much of a man you really are.. a sort of coming of age ritual and as it grows you grow with it in maturity, dignity, and virility. Plus it really does help to keep your face from freezing in the cold weather.. sort of like an all natural scarf or face warmer.
