Mine are definitely the decorations in the stores. And the way people use them to hauntify their own houses!

Oh, and caramel apples!

It's all in the anticipation for me. Plotting out my costume, plotting out evil tricks to pull. Okay...I like plotting.

My roommate and I are scaring people this year by hanging ourselves from the tree in the front yard. biggrin

It's going to be glorious. Rigging up fake nooses and boxes to stand on. Kids will come along and kick the boxes to hang the "corpses" and we'll fall harmlessly to the ground and run after them.

Halloween is nowhere NEAR as big a celebration over here in the UK...but I try my best every year.

I'm having trouble topping last years costume at the moment (see Catwoman costume pics in my candids)...but I have a little something up my sleeve wink

Like FreakPirate I love the plotting...and the dressing up aspect is fun too! biggrin

Exactly why I plot against them. biggrin

The only thing more fun than plotting for Halloween is April Fools. Which I'll probably begin planning in November. tongue

i love everything about it! except how people seem to be trying to downplay it more and more lately. replacing trick or treating with church parties and trunk to trunk candy getting in church parking lots, things like that.

i love halloween!

I love setting bear traps on my front lawn... the funny thing is, the first few people think they're fake, and then once you catch a couple people and they're flailing about in agony, everyone else just thinks they're really elaborate props. biggrin

Free candy, duh.

That, and I can dress like a freak and no one bats an eyelash.

Going to the New Beverly to see horror movies. I think this year it's "Ringu" and "the Eye."

Concerts. Rocket from the Crypt always does a show on Halloween. There's always something fun going on show-wise on Halloween.

Dressing up in cotume. Something digsuting and horrifying, of course.

Free candy!

Because it's just a fun holiday with no serious national or religious meaning behind it. Both kids and adults can get into it and have fun (although the trick or treaters these days are lame, they dont even bother to get a costume)

the sprucing up that everyone does with decorations...

the clothing, makeup, etc i get to wear one day a year w/no one giving me shit...

accessories & makeup easily available at only the Halloween season...

trick or treating, the free candy. -i'm 26 now & have trick or treated all but 4yrs of my life (3 of my teen years when i went shaving creaming & i missed the year i was 23 by going to a party instead). the boobs make it hard to pass myself off as 12, but no one's refused me candy yet.

and you know what? i don't even eat the candy. it's the thrill of the hunt dammit! then i spread my take amongst my friends who were too pussy to go lol.

That is a GREAT idea!! I must copy you this year.

Candy is #2. Dressing up is by far the best aspect. My friends and I always do themes. Lastyear was Hitler (with brains in process of being blown out), Mao Zedong, Stalin, and Mussolini (with hanging noose action).
I think this year will be simpler though, Klansman maybe.

I also like re-discovering the fact that, year after year, I can create a costume out of my very own closet without any trouble at all. Somehow that turns me on.
