Hello lovelys, hope you're all enjoying this new year we're calling twothousandandgreat [pun!].

Just a wee question that no doubt someone on here will be able to help out with.
I'm turning 21 on monday and as a wee birthday treat to myself, I'm going to get a new tattoo. It's only small [5 letters, probably about and inch in size at most], but I've also been meaning to get a new piercing for aaaages, and I thought I could kill 2 birds with one stone and get them both done while I'm in town. [It's pretty difficult for me to get into town as I live in the middle of nowhere and don't drive yet, plus my working hours are not friends with parlour and studio's opening hours].

So basically, just wondering if there would be any problem with getting them both done on the same day. I know getting more than one piercing in different places can make them a bit more of a bitch to heal, but I'm more concerned about medical/health issue. I don't want to do anything stupid so if it's a no go area then I am patient enough to wait.

Cheers folks

it's certainly a healing issue, irregardless of what's being done, if you have two (or more) things done concurrently. it never hurt anyone to wait.

I know there will be a healing issue, that goes without saying really, as I acknowledged in my first post.

Had you read the post properly, you'd see that I was asking if there were risky medical issues ie the ink from the tattoo reacting and absorbing into your bloodstream and then pouring out of your fresh piercing in a magnificent rainbow of pain, and that I mentioned it is very difficult for me to get to the only decent piercing studio and one of the few reliable tattoo parlours where I live.

I also said if there would be issues, I 'am patient enough to wait'.

i was only concurring with your assessment that the plan was potentially dangerous to your health. way to be an asshole about it.

you pretty much answered your question in your original post; god forbid anyone else participate.

no, you will not bleed ink. yes, you are daft.

if you're tattoo artist is getting ink into your blood stream, i would definitely seek out a new tattoo artist.

I've gotten piercings and tattoos in the same week, but never the same day.

Exactly.

I you notice the great lack of responses you've accrued to your post, it's because you wrote it in a way that no one really understands your question.

MrCrisp was trying to help the best he could considering your shoddy post, you didn't have to respond so venomously.

Also, asking questions like these in a relevent group will always get you a better response than the boards, as we've seen so clearly as of late.

how do you heal normally? if you're usually a quick healer, then i'd say go for it and consider getting both done at once. if you're immune system is not the best at the moment, then maybe wait a little bit. just my opinion, although i did apprentice to be a tattoo artist... i'd just do whatever you feel is good for you. as long as your artist and piercer are reputable, you should be ok. hope that helps. maybe try posting in the tattoo group.

oh yeah, there definitely shouldn't be any tattoo ink in your bloodstream, wink. that would be bad.

mrcrisp: Your first post seemed a little condesending, which was why I reacted to it, and explained myself further. I know I will not bleed ink. I was *trying* to be a little witty so that you woudl see that I was not being bitchy towards you, and I was just explaining myself further as you didn't seem to get what I was looking for as I am, apparently, a shoddy poster.

devilsreject: My artist doesn't get ink into my bloodstream. It was a joke.

ms-magdalena: I don't understand how my post was shoddy. 'this is what I plan to do, this is the part I know will happen, this is the part I'm unsure on. Any advice?'. Clearly the words I see on my screen translate into something different on yours. I'll get the IT guy round tomorrow.
I didn't respond venomously, I just took the points I made and explained them further as they weren't undestood the first time round. I eve snuck a wee joke in there, but that seems to have been mistaken for blind stupidity on my part as I apparently believe that the ink can pour from my piercing in a 'rainbow of pain'.
I'm also new to the boards, and had a look for the most appropriate place to post this, and this is what I came accross. I wasn't aware there were groups specifically for things like this.

strangekitty: thanks for the advice. I'm normally a really good healer, so I reckon it would be ok, however I've managed to work it out so that I can go get inked on monday and then get the piercing the weeks after. Luckily the piercer I go to is amazing, incredibly experienced and everyone raves about him, and tattoo man is brilliant. 100% faith in him too. I wouldn't travel for 4 hours if they weren't worth it wink

Your reputation didn't proceed you; there's nothing in this thread about hot, nautical, man-on-man love.

I got my tongue pierced and my back tattoo the same day at two different places. Everything healed fine and no complications. It's been over 11 years and I haven't fallen apart...yet.

Let's all ask questions, and then when they get answered, flip out.

except it didn't get answered, and I didn't flip out. DUN DUN DUUUNNNN!!!!
Why do places like this thrive on drama so much, especially when the drama is fabricated out of thin air...

chees Siam Kitty. I think it should all be ok, I'll be heading in for the tattoo tomorrow or tuesday, and then getting the piercing a week on friday, so by that point the ink should be pretty much healed.
