Tongues carry germs. Dog tongues also carry germs (and contrary to popular myth, dog tongues are not "clean"). Does your dog lick his feet or his butt?

Your tattoo is a fresh wound and in danger of infection.

I just put neosporin on it maybe that will stop infections hopefully.

A lot of tattoo professionals will tell you not to use Neosporin on a new tattoo... both the ointment and the cream contain petroleum, and the cream contains mineral oil as well.

Be nice, not everyone can know everything about tattoo aftercare.

To be fair, it wasn't so much a "/head-desk" directed at inmypants, as it was one directed at the artist for not warning her of the inherent "Neosporin Damage" that her actions might incur.

inmypants - Darling, wash the tattoo, gently, with a small amount of Dial soap, and cover it in a light coat of unscented, non-petroleum moisturizer. It will do you so much better than Neosporin.

And then join this group. ♥

I'd give it a good wash with mild soap and water and keep an eye on it.

BUT DON'T SCRUB! You'll scrub the ink right out.

Didn't it have a bandage on it when you left the tattoo studio?

Sounds like inmypants's tattoo artist could use some education.
