i in 200,000 live births,...what does the term 'live' birth mean?..does it happen more frequently in pre-recorded births?

Babies that are born alive. As opposed to stillbirths, where the baby is not born alive.

That kid's gonna have one awesome story to tell.

I think this story is so fucking amazing... between the beautiful and refreshing display of human compassion as well as the "happy ending".

Good news like this is so hard to come by and while I do consider myself someone with a sense of humor, some of these jokes on this thread are messed up.

God forbid we have good news that's actually taken seriously on this site... it seems like too many people around here feel much more at home with critisizing or making fun of other people, rather than simply feeling happy for someone else's good fortune.

I've heard a lot about this story but I've never actually seen a photo of the little girl before. I've never seen anything like this. The world is full of fascinating things.

Glad to hear she's going to recover fully.

same here... but cool, it's not as bad as I imagined... I really hope she recovers fully too smile

in todays age, it is entirely possible to be an incarnation of Vishnu and the beloved child of Sri Mata Kali, and still have your unborn sister's grotesque and useless appendages surgically removed. I am going to watch this child's growth with the great curiousity and wonder. I'm sure that we can expect great things from her.
