This article is a good reason to vote for Barack Obama. If he is elected President, you know that African Americans will be jumping for joy.
Unfortunately, the common sentiment among African Americans is that they do not want Obama to end up like MLK and Malcolm X, so they won't vote for him.
Furthermore, Hilary Clinton is attracting women of all colors to her campaign. This might not bode well for Obama in the end.
Wait, what? Are you kidding me. If by enlightened points of view you mean those that aren't ignorant and uniformed then yes. I can't even grasp the absurdity of the idea that racists should be allowed to be racist because "hey it's a free country" enough to formulate a good reply
Just out of curiosity, what if someone makes it a point to become knowledgable and informed about Group X and ends up hating Group X anyway?
You mean like being knowledgeable and informed about bigots, and hating them anyway ? Like that ?
If I hate Group Y because they hate Group X, is my hate more justified than Group Y's hate? Or is hate still just as ugly as it originally was?
Yes, it's more justified. The criteria for hating Group X is based on a quality that has nothing to do with a person's reason for hating them. For example, "black people commit crimes", "Mexicans are stealing our jobs", "Jews control the banks". You can't rationally justify those feelings. Whereas your hatred for racists is based on the qualities inherent in being a racist. All racists are, in fact, racist. So if racism is a bad thing, hating racists for racism is justifiable when hating black people for laziness is not. On the other hand, hating white people (or southerners or rednecks or whoever) for being racist is not justifiable.
You can't rationally justify any feeling really. That's why they're feelings, and not logic. I'm not saying I heart racists, I really really don't. But, I'm just saying that hating a group of people for whatever reason is still a bad thing. Generalities are dangerous, and to say that "all people who are racists are bad people, so it's ok that I hate them," is still as unfair as saying "all poor black people are criminals" because neither statement is true.

You know, there is a point beyond which moral relativism becomes flat-out stupid.

While you can still see black people involved in events that are dominated by whites, you very rarely see white people at black dominated events. It is made, both verbally and non, that white people are not welcome at such gatherings. So, where did this manufactured ethnic strife come from...? I leave that to your imaginings.
That's the dumbest shit of all time. Congratulations.
What are these "black dominated events?" You know, the ones that you don't go to, so wouldn't have a clue about.
I wondered the same thing when I read this. Maybe it's different where he lives but around here you are just as likely to see white people at "black dominated events" as you are to see things the other way around. If you could even categorize them that way.
