It's fair to assume that most of you, like me, plan on seeing Sweeney Todd over the holidays. Director Tim Burton has teamed up again with the delicious duo Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter for a re-telling of the age-old tale of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. It's a story of revenge, love and murder that takes place in old Victorian London, lush with gothic glamour.

As much as Sweeney Todd is a musical thriller about Benjamin Barker and the vengeance he swears after losing his family, it is also a story about Mrs. Lovett, a murderess who uses her role as friend and accomplice as the way into Barker's heart after years of secretly pining for him. In many ways, revenge is the means to an intimacy she's always longed for. As the story unfolds, the audience finds itself wondering if the duo's gruesome crimes of passion are really so criminal after all. Unfortunately, as it is with gothic melodramas, by the time the truth about Barker's family finally surfaces, it may be too late for salvation.

The film opens everywhere on Christmas, but the staff at SuicideGirls thought we'd tell our lovely and loyal members about a chance to win a free trip and VIP screening on the lot in Hollywood before the film's release. Basically, those interested can send out a party invite through their Facebook profile and compete to see who can throw the best Sweeney Todd-themed event.

1st Prize: Airfare and tickets to the Hollywood pre-screening of Sweeney Todd for you and a friend.

2nd Prize: Two tickets to the Hollywood pre-screening of Sweeney Todd.

10 Runners Up: Will win a Sweeney Todd prize pack, including a movie poster signed by Johnny Depp and an Original Broadway Cast recording.

Award Criteria: Dreamworks will choose the best party based on the number of RSVP'S, photos, comments, creativity and theme. Throw the best Sweeney Todd party with this application and win a free trip to the Hollywood pre-screening.

Here is all you have to do to enter:

1. Click the "Let's Party" link to get started here.

2. Next, download the application, click "start a party" and browse the range of invites selecting Sweeney Todd. Sign up for the Sweeney Todd themed invite here.

3. After that, just fill in the details as you choose and you're ready to pass along to all your friends...

If you're having trouble coming up with party themes, well, SuicideGirls is about as Tim Burton-obsessed and Sweeney Todd-loving as you can get so here are a few ideas to get you started... feel free to use them but just make sure to fill us in afterward about how the party went. We want all the juicy details!

-Invite your friends over for a Demon Barber Beauty Day. Sip pink champagne while getting your tresses mussed and fussed to achieve that perfect Helena Bonham Carter do. Don't forget to go heavy on the smokey, plum eye shadow and snack on meat pies.

-Put some hustle in your bustle by throwing a sexy, Sweeney inspired masquerade ball. See who comes decked out in their Victorian finest.

-Since all the actors did their own singing for the film, invite your Broadway-loving friends over for a night of their best karaoke rendition of "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd."

Also, don't forget to add Sweeney Todd here and SuicideGirls here to your Facebook friend's list to keep tabs on all the events...

Don't say we never did anything for you! Have fun and if you win the trip to Hollywood wave hi to SGHQ!

xoxo

If this was on anything else but Facebook, I'd totally do it.
I can't navigate that website at all.

I know this is off topic, but the best Johnny Depp inspired party idea ever is the Edward 40-Hands party, in which everybody must duct-tape a 40oz beverage (I prefer Mickey's Ice) to each hand and they cannot be removed until they are empty.

Also fun (but much more dangerous) is the Edward Champagne-Hands party, carried out to full effect by my friend Tom last New Years.

I was so excited when I read the headline, too.
But trying to attempt this would result in my brain exploding.
Oh wells.

I'd have to agree with everyone else on the facebook issue...I'm horrible with that site. And it's pretty lame. But, Sweeney Todd...woot, I can't wait!!

Does this mean Suicidegirls is one of those Facebook affiliates? Do my school friends know when I'm looking at boobies?

Facebook blows.

This movie is a musical.

The only musical I like is Rocky Horror and this will probably be the antithesis of that.

Love Tim
Love Johnny
Helena I can stand

but

Tim would you stop using the same people in every fucking movie you make?
It's getting ridiculous!

Also Johnny's hair makes him look like the bastard lovechild from Dave Vanian from the Damned and that creepy news lady that used to be on ABC in Los Angeles.
