Discovered in 2000 by Sharon Osbourne only a few shows after forming, OTEP was asked on the spot to perform at Ozzfest. The band was unsigned during its first stint on the tour, but made such an impression that it was invited to play two more years. After releasing two strong albums on Capitol Records and enjoying cult-like fanaticism, OTEP is back with a brand new albumThe Ascension , a new label, and a nationwide tour.

Thank which ever diety you like for her recovery. If the world had lost Otep Shamaya, then a great becon of art and creativity wouldn't be able to touch others lives. And I believe that.

I have no real words to express how in love with this woman's ability to do art I am. Its just so moving to me in so many ways and levels. And if any of you have a chance, go see their live show. Its so personal and they never fail to please. I love the band even more for their love and devotion to their fans.

I love Otep! Nobody, and I mean nobody, mixes such raw emotion, lyrical brilliance, and growling musical defiance together with such brutal intensity. Her concerts are incredible, yet meaningful on so many levels. Honestly, I can't think of a single other band I'd put on the same playing field.

It's good to hear she's feeling better and will be able to continue her tour.

Finaly! This is the interview I've been waiting for........There's realy no way to fully describe how I love this band. She's by far the best lyricist EVER!

Her energy on stage is unmatched. Though I have to also give some credit to her partner in crime evil J, who comes the closest. What he does to a bass looks like it should be outlawed, and I love watching them both.

I picked up Sevas Tra the year it came out on a whim, didn't know anything about the band, fell in love.

otep is the goddess to which all others strive

Every performance she gives is a religious experience. To have someone actually give their all to the point they are physically and emotionally drained to the point she does means something to all who listen. She packs raw aggression and intelligence into a package not many can even come close to.

That's freaking incredible

Otep is one of the most powerful musicians I've ever seen. If you're ever lucky enough to catch her live show I guarentee you WILL be blown away.
